You know all those asshole wealthy people telling the rest of us to "cut back on the lattes and avocado toast?" Well, turns out "some consumers have given up their iced lattes to save cash."
Oh, the #BadEconomy horror continues: ""Coffee drinkers are leaving Starbucks's loyalty program. Chips Ahoy cookies are lingering longer on grocery-store shelves. . . "
Not the Chip Ahoys. TBH, the Better Half can bake a mean choc chip cookie, so why buy the bagged one? And we make our own coffee.
GRADS, CONGRATS, and if you are the Indiana University student who put this on your mortar board for your ceremony, please DM me so that we may figure out a way for me to buy you every last beer or cocktail you would like to consume to properly celebrate your graduation.
I just finished reading Batman - The Long Halloween. It is without a doubt a masterpiece. I’ve said it here before, but the duo Jeoh Loeb and Tim Sale is very very good. Sale’s drawings are very expressive and authorial. I was quite shocked by the plot twist on the last page, it was impressive. I recommend reading.
'Batman: the Long Halloween' is one of my top favorite books. I do try to reread it around Halloween when I can (though clearly you can read it anytime)
I highlighted that earlier, that is messed up, but consistent with a pattern of "developed nations" dumping their (insert whatever shit here) on "less developed nations." This comes to mind as I had a student come for a consult on that sort of dumping (in her case, looking at e-waste but still).
Yep, that is pretty much the corporate world, whatever their product is fucking up (pardon my language), they've always known and mobilized their PR teams, paid docs, etc. to obfuscate, minimize, etc.
On a side note, reminds me of this book I read last year. My #review if anyone is curious.
As the article states: "Every library is different, and not every library is going to offer all of the services outlined here. You will have to check the website for your local library—or head to the library and ask someone—to find out what your library has to offer."
So go ahead and check what your local library offers.
My county library is decent. However, I recently discovered they also had a reciprocal deal with the next door big city public library, so I did get myself a card there too. They do have a very good selection over there, especially for DVDs and graphic novels.
