Political webcomic I quickly drew on my phone right below I step into the shower. Wild how self-deluded the "Biden and Trump are eQuAlLy BaD" self-centered privileged children are. It's easy to pretend like it doesn't matter who you (don't) vote for if you're not part of a marginalized demographic who will suffer far, far, far more at the hands of Trump (or are already suffering and somehow don't think it'll get even worse). The time to vote against Biden was in the primaries--in the general election, a third party or non-vote IS A VOTE FOR TRUMP, and no amount of smarmy foot-stomping is going to change this.

I know it's so much harder than not bothering to vote, but the way you stop the US from funding genocide is ORGANIZING, is physically showing up to protests, is continued calls and letters to your elected officials, is working AHEAD of voting day to for your chosen progressive candidate. If not voting or wasting your vote is what will cause the "revolution" you dream of, then we would have revolted a long time ago.

Nice to see someone else point this out. Even though the last election got a 66% turnout, which was the largest percentage since around 1900, we usually rarely get over 50% turnout. It's not 1/2 the country. It's, at best, 25% vs 25%. Plus add in that Biden won by 9 million votes says to me that it's not even 50/50. But, yeah, because better to only gain an inch than lose a yard.

Not to start drama but genuine question for the "Biden is equally bad as Trump so I won't be voting for either" crowd, what is your plan of action to protect everyone who isn't a Rich Straight Cis White "Christian" Male™️ after Trump is put back into office by your lack of voting for the only other viable option, the rightwing-majority Supreme Court finishes abolishing women's bodily autonomy, voting rights and EPA regulations, and the loyalist goons Trump appoints to replace every sane person in government enact Project 2025 to finish establishing Christian Nationalist fascist rule?

@toplesstopics Well let's see... I'm sure a lot of people think we're screwed either way & looking forward to build things back better after the country burns to the ground. But it's the same hubris of those wishing for a zombie apocalypse because they figure they will survive & be the ones who'll rebuild society right. They miss the part where there's competing groups fighting each other over the scraps of civilization. I'll take someone 50% on the right side of things over a fascist.

It's why the billionaires are already building their own versions of Vaults. They know that the one with the most resources wins and want to be sure they are already stocked to take over after the smoke/radiation/plague clears. Same with most governments. The rest of us? Dead, dying, and/or willing to join them for a comfortable place to sleep and some food.

Trying to draw full-sized figures, rather than the little SD's that I normally do because, honestly, I'm creative, but I'm lazy & a perfectionist, which is a terrible combination. Got the idea of posing 3D figures to base a drawing on so my proportions are correct. Here's the 1st one. Learned a lot.

posted this ominous warning at the top of my studio: "Under our existing external links policy, violative URLs posted within the video itself or in the video's metadata (titles, descriptions, and tags) may result in the video being removed."

If you click "learn more," it takes you to their "external links policy," which is laughably vague, just like their in-general page. You can read it yourself here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9054257?hl Note how they repeatedly say "this is not an exhaustive list," and there's no mention of nudity, only "pornography"--meaning it's up to that particular algorithm's programming bias what counts as "prawn" or not (to say nothing of the insanely blatant and viewpoint within the that "female-looking nipples are 'nudity' but male nipples aren't" 🙃)

The absolutely wildest thing is, if youtube would just give me half the effin leeway that they do these many other accounts that post FULL BODY, FULLY UNCENSORED nudity, I wouldn't need to direct people anywhere else to see the "patriarchy-unapproved" version of my videos. Honestly, this is pretty crazy...I learned long ago not to post any kind of clickable link anywhere in a youtube description or comment (after getting for linking to my own website, and a twitter post of mine, and a tumblr post, and a link to a discord server intended to serve as a resource guide and community for intersex people...) but getting these threats that even just having the url to my site on my page can get a video banned.

If you're a or who only posts your content to Youtube, I highly encourage you to start packing now, and get your feet into some less-faschy alternative platforms-- is a great place to start (you can comment if you want me to try to direct you towards more specific resources). Because if you "keep all your eggs in one basket," you're going to end up with egg all over your face (and none left to survive off of) once capitalism kicks that basket out of your hands.

*"reacting" doing a lot of work here, as so many of these "react" channels are just a person gasping, laughing, or possibly not reacting at all. Viewers are clearly just there for the content they're "reacting" to.

@toplesstopics I've only been in 'clothing-optional' spaces, not nudists ones, so I've never dealt with the 'mainstream' nudists before outside of on-line, so your description is both enlightening and, well, not surprising, unfortunately. I think of the stories from Weimar Republic in Germany and how every political and social group had their own nudist camps. I don't see that happening here, because it requires resources and many POCs don't have that.

@toplesstopics Well, it doesn't help with society's general rules about nudity, body & sex-shaming that nudist spaces tend to be out in the boonies away from "decent people", which favors those with means, much like so many other things in life. As such, they want to be able to keep the riff-raff out. Personally, I've always found most nudists to be weirdly puritanical, which is why they always rubbed me the wrong way.
