@Linux_in_a_Bit I don't know anyone who refers to Android as Linux. Android is just Android...

24 bit colour is so universal that most people don't know what it really is, including me at one point. It's just a fact of life, like trying to describe water to fish, and it gets confusing that I don't have the vocabulary to contrastingly describe what Pantone is for, or why Sunday Peanuts strips were published in colour but aren't available in "colour" as we know it.

[Tom Scott video]

I am in a Sainsbury's. Not a special Sainsbury's. Just my local Sainsbury's. And if you look behind me, you'll see the meal deal counter.

Now, meal deals are as quintessentially British as a cup of tea and a biscuit! 😀

But what if I were to tell you that Meal Deals have their origins not in Britain, but in this remote Portuguese village.

[cut to man speaking Portuguese] subtitles: My father would make meal deals for me and my brothers in the 1960s.

@Linux_in_a_Bit Haven't watched it but it's rated 15 over here, which seems lofty. Pic from friend.

What's the technical term for when you start measuring something to evaluate it, but then that shifts over time to people trying to meet the target not to do the actual thing.

Happens a lot in schools with exam results.

    I know there is one.

@jann Don't need TVL if you're just web streaming Netflicks apple tv etc, unless it's BBC iPlayer.

I don't often say gnu/Linux but I definitely don't say linux distributions, a term that crumbles as soon as android enters the picture.

@animeirl Looks fine to me. But that's cause I don't buy the urbanism meme.
