animeirl,

people who willingly live places like this should be executed

anjum,

@animeirl Looks fine to me. But that's cause I don't buy the urbanism meme.

animeirl,

@anjum because you love car dependency

animeirl,

@anjum cringe

@animeirl At least this one has trees compared to fucking USA but they have no streets nor walking paths, only roads (check the widths and low-angles).

animeirl,

@lanodan the suburb my parents live in has trees and sidewalks but it still sucks ass and i think they are deranged

lanodan,

@animeirl Meanwhile technically I live in a suburb because it's a town next to a city, but said town has been in the top of national walkability contests (it's faster to go by foot in most areas and in a very safe manner) for like a decade, plus you know kids regularly playing around in the various parcs and sports facilities.

animeirl,

@lanodan where's that?

lanodan,

animeirl,

@lanodan ah of course, they have good suburbs in europe

thatbrickster,

@animeirl They live there because it's all they can afford. Not their fault they have bad taste.

t. someone with literally no taste because COVID

animeirl,

@thatbrickster sometimes that's the case but it usually isn't

thatbrickster,

@animeirl Not all X, etc. but when everywhere is turning into urban hellscapes because of an unhealthy obsession with building more housing then this shouldn't surprise in the slightest.

animeirl,

@thatbrickster this isn't happening in north america, maybe it is in the UK but the US isn't building. more housing at a high rate

thatbrickster,

@animeirl Your image is about Canada, neither of our domains.

animeirl,

@thatbrickster Canada's housing situation is more or less the same as in the US

chjara,

@animeirl @thatbrickster one thing is that many places in the US essentially force you to build this sort of single family home backrooms up to the horizon due to stupid and, guess what, openly racist, zoning laws

animeirl,

@thatbrickster this neighborhood is probably very expensive given the house and lot size

Epsi,

@animeirl @thatbrickster Mississauga is insanely expensive to live in, yes.

chjara,

@animeirl not a single store or public place in a 2 km radius, how do americans live like this

animeirl,

@chjara they shouldn't (live)

Moon,

@chjara @animeirl you load your SUV with groceries every two weeks.

animeirl,

@Moon @chjara *4 door pickup with tiny bed

Moon,

@animeirl @chjara I call them cuck-trucks. you have failed to comprehend the telos. can't even transport a mattress lying down.

animeirl,

@Moon @chjara i feel bad for people who actually need a pickup for their job since getting a real pickup in the US is like next to impossible now

lanodan,
@lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me avatar

@Moon @animeirl @chjara Haha, meanwhile I once saw someone with a fucking sofa on a big rented bicycle trailer, granted in the flat part of the city but still.

chjara,

@animeirl @Moon either way, way too big of a car
