#3DPrinting question: what software do you use for “slicing” with a Resin printer? I currently use Chitubox but it seems a bit limited… (not too bad either for a free program)

@elduvelle Might be good to specify if you're printing Resin or FDM as there are different answers for each for me.

For Resin I prefer Lychee Slicer, their support generation is top notch, and has a much better UI.

for FDM printing, I use PrusaSlicer for the great features, and UI. Plus I have multiple Prusa fdm printers, as well as an Artillery Sidewinder X2 for printing with filament.

A reminder about gun massacres in the USA:

Back in 1979 the Cleveland Elementary School shooting was so shocking that people wrote songs about it.

It was one of two spree shootings that year: there were a total of just 26 shootings in the decade 1970-1979.

Brenda Spencer killed two adults and injured 9 children.

Yesterday (May 6th) there were THREE comparable spree shootings in the USA: the day before that there were FIVE.

There have been 14 spree shootings in the first week of May, 2023.

@cstross we have become numb to it. Those of us that oppose massive gun proliferation die a little inside every time we hear another mass shooting, and know that the politicians won't do a DAMN thing about it. And we can't do anything to get rid of those politicians because a certain sizable subset of americans have fetishized the gun and won't allow ANY sort of progress towards change. It's beyond maddening. :(

@tanepiper first decided your budget, you can spend a lot on a 3d Printer. then figure out what you want to print most. if you're into miniatures for gaming, go resin. if you're into functional prints without great amounts of detail, go FDM. I know FDM best, so brands to consider in FDM space, Prusa (reliable, open source) Bambu (fast, closed source), and lots of lower priced closes of Creality type printers for cheaper, but requires some tech skills to keep running well.

(which actually didn't happen, and they didn't lose by a stupid amount of goals to a aweful team in my head canon)

Bummer to hear about Ruidaz though, but I am curious to see if MorChu can replicate? Or is is JorLeo?
