Question for queer people:

What is your ideal romantic partner?

Context: I'm working on a dating sim but I've got hardcore writers block. I am hoping to get a kind of vibe of what people are into so I can make a good partner for the game.

@taylormccue If you're making a pixel art game, I like 360p for that since it integer scales to 720p. Same with 180p if you want less resolution.

@taylormccue Yeah, most of my pixel art games are 360p internally. They use a simple upscale filter to make the pixels look bigger on higher resolution screens.

I have also made VNs with more traditional 720p and 1080p graphics, but it's such a struggle. It takes forever to draw such detailed art, and I'm not even sure if people care that much about the extra quality. People rarely comment on the graphics really.

My patrons convinced me to give voice acting my new game a try. Like, me voice acting it all by myself. The acting part doesn't really scare me, nor does using the audio in-game.

Recording, editing, naming and iterating on 350 audio files sounds like a huge pain, though. No way I'm doing it manually. Is there an existing free tool for this or do I have to code my own? 🤔

If you have a paid game, you might want to give it a shot. The chances of being chosen might be low due to fierce competition, but you never know. And submitting is easy, so why not.

I've seen a lot of articles about how many games are on Steam now, and how this presents a massive visibility challenge, buuuut

How about this view instead?

This excludes the games that have limited profile features. That is, this excludes the games that essentially no one saw/bought.

(it really doesn't take much push to clear the limited profile features)

@midnightspire No worries. Yeah, it was a bit of a rough year, but it could have been worse. I learned a lot and had fun making and streaming games at least. I just like being harsh to myself because it's a source of motivation to me. 😄

Nix & Fay got hit by the hurry to make the jam games too, but I'll get back to it eventually. I'll probably clone the mechanics in Godot and do level editing there. Prototyping level design and gameplay on NES was such a nightmare.
