As an FYI to less technical folks I know.
Conversation about Recall... literally the point being... bring awareness.

A person in the conversation hit back... it's only on those new machines. So I addressed that, again pointing out this is an FYI and it will be important in near future.

Person then linked in a MS info listserv where trolls gathered to rant.

Some people are scanners and immediate reactors - without doing any thinking or research on their own.

Why did I say "where trolls gather"? Because they go off on all these tangents and they always bring in Bill Gates.

Am told I went off on tangent by bringing up it's viability in business; specifically if his legal department would consider requests for that data in discovery to be an issue.

Says business is different than personal. (Ed. Seriously)

I 100% don't have a problem with it - if it was off by default and they can describe the "feature" showing customers how to enable. Caveat Emptor is going to bite folks who tur it on when they don't understand the Cons.

In Second season of my Rewatch of aka Battlestar Galactica - Ron Moore version.

When this came out - it fit so well to that era.

And after 20 years - I'm finding it is a good fit for our current era.

Much like the story of Cylon's - and all that... "This has happened before... and it will happen again".

A convenient line for the show - but feels like society - modern, or probably any going back in history - is just repeating.

Human's need to find a way to break the cycle - and grow.

Regarding the unused black PINs... don't go off and change your PIN to one of the 40 unused PINs... why? Because like the most used PINs, these will be part of the first values tested... in a brute force crack.

Also know that 10,000 numbers can be tested instantly-- so it is up to your system to not allow but a small number of tests.

PINs are not a good overall security tool.

Tornado report... for Kalamazoo County.

What isn't described is that the emergency housing for those that lost housing is ending.

Stories coming out that some families are living in cars because they can't find replacement housing because it's too costly.

City of Portage contains Stryker, Pfizer, and is the shopping district/mall. In otherwords there is a lot of money in the area. The area that created and supports The Kalamazoo Promise.
