Really enjoyed this series. My only quibble is it felt like Steve Pemberton & John Robins were playing to win, versus the rest of the cast who were there to have fun. It didn’t “ruin the game” or anything, but I was certainly more entertained by the antics of Sophie, Nick, and Joanne.
Excited to see who they grab for the next series. Also curious to see how the show progresses now that the “meta” is more common knowledge - “look under the table”, “check the room”, etc. I don’t envy the task writer lol
Played a little bit of the first game and while aesthetically pleasing I couldn’t get into the actual gameplay. I’d watch the fuck out of a Hellblade show, though.
Luke Skywalker had a weird wife named Mara Jade who was a femme fatal ex-Sith assassin with a purple lightsaber. Chewbacca died at the age of 225 years old when Star Wars’ Aldi brand Borg dropped a moon on him. The Death Star plans were not stolen by a ragtag bunch of rebel soldiers that included beloved martial arts leading...
As you can find in the link, Robot Carnival is an older animated anthology movie from 1987 with a similar scifi focus. It’s by no means the same beyond that though, but still a good watch if you’re a fan of scifi animation....
Thanks for the rec! While we’re here, if you haven’t seen the show “Love, Death, and Robots” I could highly recommend it for fans of The Animatrix. Anthology series with different studios for each episode. Many of them are dark & violent sci-fi, while others are funny & light-hearted.
The city of Gretna, Louisiana, in the shadow of New Orleans, brings in more money through fines and related fees than some larger cities in the state. An investigation by WVUE-TV and ProPublica shows that much of that money comes from drivers who rack up multiple violations and hefty fines....
Read through the article, and yeah honestly I struggled to find the point. Seems like this specific town gets a ton of money from cops dinging people with minor infractions, but I didn’t see any suggestion that the cops were somehow inflating that number. Sounds like a lot of people there can’t afford the ticket, so they ignore the summons and get dinged again for not showing up.
Sooooo yeah, the data suggests something is fucky, but it’s not like cops are breaking into garages to ticket people, so what’s actually happening?
Begging people on the internet to buy you things on an Amazon wishlist doesn’t give the impression you’re actually caring for a mom cat & her kittens.
If you genuinely need help, reach out to your nearest animal shelter or vet. If you’re unable to afford food for them, vets/shelters can help connect you to cat food & other resources to help. They may also be able to help you re-home them.

Ortiz was facing disciplinary action during the time of his crimes due to an “alleged medical mistake” he made during one of his surgeries that resulted in his patient not breathing during a routine procedure, the criminal complaint shows. Ortiz was at risk of losing his medical license due to the mistake, according to prosecutors.
Ortiz believed the surgical center was trying to “crucify” him for the mistake, particularly when he would be financially devastated if he lost his job, the criminal complaint said.
Sounds like he was trying to sabotage the whole place because he made a mistake during a surgery & was mad at possibly losing his license.

Check your local public library, if possible! Many libraries are equipped with scanners for digitizing local newspapers and so on. Librarians might also have connections elsewhere with book scanners.
