I'm learning to be a proper Scrum Master after 20+ years as a SW developer and I'm creating a TypeScript/React Native App called TKCompanionApp available on F-Droid.

    My home office keyboard is a Logitech K845ch with Cherry Blue Switches; my office keyboard is a Unicomp New Model M.

    From this, I think we can describe my taste in keyboards as “suitable for making foley sounds of typing for a film.”

    Just installed and tried the #Mastodon official app:

    • the Post area, with basically spam things, is useless.
    • the Hashtag, News and For You (or however are called in English) areas don't load anything.
    • when I scroll the Community area, to load new messages, it loads them all, so I lose the current reading position and I hand to scroll back to search for it.

    Che ne pensate della scelta degli sviluppatori di di forzare l'iscrizione di tutti gli utenti dell'app "ufficiale" affinché scelgano per opzione predefinita l'istanza del fondatore (che è già la più grande istanza al mondo)? Quali sono secondo voi le motivazioni: migliorare l'ergonomia per gli utenti? consolidare il business della fondazione? Esercitare il potere su tutte le altre istanze e gli altri progetti del fediverso?

    Credo che l'umanità sia portata alla centralizzazione per egoismo, presumo.
    Avevamo radio AM e FM, ora solo FM e sta scomparendo in favore dello streaming, tecnologia unica e non così resiliente come i segnali radio.
    I piccoli aggeggi stanno andando tutti verso la USB-C.
    I pochi orologi non "smart" sono sempre più rari.
    Vabbè standardizzare, per controllare meglio, ma la troppa centralizzazione, alla lunga, ci distruggerà perché non avremo alternative.

    Weird #question: is there a way to use #passwords without knowing them?
    For example: in an API to API communication I (hopefullu) need a password or token. Is there a way to let my application retrieve and use it, without be being able to know such password?
    Or: I have a shared resource (e.g.: intranet page) that, for whatever reason, I cannot put under SSO. Can I let people access such resource with a password, without sharing it or even without letting them know it?

    Puntata vista, finalmente! Ottima.
    Certo, io sono di parte, ho attivato SPiD da casa, a tutti i livelli, grazie al lettore e alla CNS. Ma sicuramente è un enorme e utilissimo servizio.

    Probabilmente però all'italiano medio manca un pochino di cultura di base dell'informatica: tanti pensano che i computer siano delle scatole magiche o che so io... quindi non pensano neanche lontanamente ai problemi di privacy dei telefoni o alle password, ...
