Going back and playing my Xbox one for the first time In a long time. Overall a good experience. However the system update times are too long and the loading times for the settings while minor are really unnecessary. The new UX is the best the system has seen. Still see why the console struggled to get traction.

I’m at a loss for words. Akira toriyama has passed. I find out 6 days later. The works of his imagination were a huge part of my childhood. Seeing him involved in the new Dragon Ball anime’s warmed my heart. His vision brought together amazing worlds, Interesting characters .I hope you and your family find peace. I’m trying to make myself play New World. I paid 40 bucks for it I minus well try to beat the story . Due to its poor game mechanics and fragmented odd story. It’s making really hard for me to get through. I can’t make this my “main” game. I’ll try to squeeze a bit out from time to time going forward. Time to pick another game from my backlog.

Ok I’ll say it, I think Gran Turismo 7 might be the best looking game ever made. Sank another solid 4 hours in. AI is extra frustrating in the end game content. Can’t wait to check out the new Forza next week to see how it compares.

Gaming Journal :
Playing Luigi’s mansion 3 and stuck on the janitor ghost boss. The boss battles while original show off the games worst flaws: the controls. I won’t spoil anything. But essentially you have to juggle 2 characters one of whom whose movement is super limited. I don’t mind a challenging boss. But when the controls themselves kill me more than the boss. Then it’s a negative.

I also believe a large part of the reason for Forza’s 5 years absence was the struggle with getting the ray tracing to work at all. In the end I do believe the developer had to make more concessions than they realized they would have to. #gaming #forza #shareyourgames #xbox

Played end to end the first Crusin USA on N64. Lots of fond memories of this from my childhood. Way easier as an adult. Only took 24 minutes to beat the first time. I can understand why some reviews of the time were poor. But overall still a fun mindless arcade racer. And I love that!

Personally I’m not sure why anyone is shocked by the RT implementation in Forza. The reality is current gen consoles simply are not powerful enough to produce true ray tracing. Heck most gaming pcs still can’t! I look at the marketing for Ray Tracing on modern consoles like the marketing for HD on 7th gen consoles. Few games hit 720p even fewer hit 1080p. PS4 and Xbox one hit those targets better. Personally I think 4k 60 was good enough for now.

Day 4 of Luigi’s mansion 3. Overall I love the games setting , charm and mechanics. It’s levels are varied and it’s boss fights original. My one grievance is the controls. The 2.5 perspective with the controls are a challenge. Especially during boss fights. Half the time things don’t work as they should. Because I was a pixel off from a trigger point. Just beat the garden. Have 7 more levels to go!
