"The Santa Barbara County Fire Department plans to conduct a prescribed burn for traning purposes at the Chamberlin Ranch, near Los Olivos, between June 19-21, 2024, depending on conditions. Prescribed fires typically burn less intensely than wildfires. Prescribed burns help prevent the spread of wildfres and can reduce impacts to watersheds that can result n soil loss and sedimentation. This burn s a Prescribed Fire to achieve training of new Santa Barbara County Fire personnel. Approximately 100 acres of sage scrub and Oak woodland will be burned. SCE: Test Alerts Coming ⚠️ Dear Neighbors, from June 4-7, we are testing our Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) notification system to confirm recent improvements.
Since we are testing all phases of PSPS notifications, we’ll need to send multiple test emails to a limited number of customers in high fire risk areas.
NOTE: No power will be shut off in connection with these tests.

Riverside County: Prescribed Burn Scheduled at Lake Mathews.
Monday, June 3rd, through Friday, June 14th, 2024... CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department, in cooperation with Riverside
County Habitat Conservation Agency, and Metropolitan Water District, will be conducting a a vegetation management prescribed burn at Lake Mathews. The prescribed burn at Lake Mathews accomplishes the goal of rehabilitating the burrowing owl and Stephens’ Kangaroo Rat (SKR) habitat through eradication of invasive, non-native grasses and weed species. This allows mammal species to find food and make homes.

Los Padres National Forest: The Hill Fire remains 1,383 acres with its forward progress stopped. As of this morning it is 80% contained. 200 firefighters remain assigned to improve containment lines and mop up.
