I think I've whinged here before about my difficulties with #Shotwell after switching from #Ubuntu to #Debian. Well, I've fixed it, and I've published a gist in case anyone wants to do the same.
@governa I too have a 2013 MBA (second screen for video consumption). I have #Fedora running and it has given this beautiful machine a new lease of life.
We continue advancing with the development of our VPN client that will be available within Midori web browser, this is a short video about how it works.
I installed the PPA of LibreOffice because the Snap version is garbage. However, thankfully, the other Snaps I use aren't terrible. I will continue to vary the ways I install programs, using the best versions of each. As this is a good way to approach installing software on Ubuntu!
I was watching a video on YouTube about VR design when in the middle, a couple of frames showed an Irssi screenshot of some #ubuntu channels from around 2008. Weird.
10m46s into this video. Blink and you'll miss it. https://youtu.be/Fhlw88_Beu4?si=j_5uNaP1GOavhSsK&t=646
Ran into my first issue with Ubuntu, GNOME Tweaks made my system act up on the X session but not Wayland…Of course, this issue happened just as I needed to be out the door!
However, on my way to work I figured out how to reset my mouse cursor to default. A CLI command while not logged in will correct my mouse issue. I will uninstall GNOME Tweaks as it doesn’t play well with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
@wendigo True, I could get my hands dirty with dconf editor but if it gnome shell is acting out due to GNOME Tweak…I simply don’t know yet. Better preparation is in order for that CLI journey. 🤣
I did say I wanted to learn and I meant it! I currently have a safety net of my USB Ubuntu installer.
Our work advances with MidoriVPN, a private and secure system that uses #wireguard Multiple instances and mesh technology. Soon to be integrated into #midoribrowser.
Install whatever Node package your Ubuntu has, then install n and use it to select whatever version of Node you want. It's what AWS uses in the Docker images they use for CodeBuild - https://github.com/aws/aws-codebuild-docker-images
I'm excited to go eat some lobster rolls... err, I mean that I am excited to announce that I will speaking at DevConf.US, August 14th - 16th, in Boston, USA 🦞
I will also be staffing an Ubuntu community booth as well alongside my fellow yinzer @AKernelPanic. If you're in the Boston-area and interested with helping with the booth, or picking up some limited-edition Noble Numbat swag, check the link below! Hope to see you there! 👇
