If you're on Reddit still, and you #SoloRPG I'd love to see your answer.
Also, OMG some of the ways people do this sounds ... so painful. Like OMG WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO YOURSELF, but it just goes to show how different our 🧠s are.
Seeing how radically differently people approach #SoloRPG is also insightful in that it gives us a clue as to why some people find so much more enjoyment with solo play AND an frustrations in group plays
We don't just enjoy different types of games (trad vs narrative vs whatever) and settings. We also want to interact with our games in different ways at different speeds. There will always be some degree of "impedance mismatch" when playing with others.
There's also the Solo Game Master's Guide, which I picked up at #GenCon in 2023, started reading, but got distracted by life/work/other projects Given a certain solo/co-opt #Starforged game we've got cooking, now seems like a good time to pick it up again (and to use the Summer Reading list to finish it). #Solo#SoloRPG
Continuing to replace the AI-generated images in my game now that I understand how problematic it is.
It's turning out to be making my game better. Below is a comparison between the AI image I'd generated (on the left) for a snowy outpost and what I drew (on the right).
The AI version is evocative enough, I suppose, but it's obviously AI generated. And the image on the right is MUCH closer to what I envisioned for the scene (despite my art skills). I like mine better.
