Back in the USA is the debut studio album (and second album overall, following 1969's live album Kick Out the Jams) by the American rock band MC5, released January 1970 #knowyourroots
PS: I must admit, that I don’t know much about mc5 and don’t know their music - but I will change that. I just discovered their photo chronicler Leni Sinclair, who flew from east Germany to Detroit in the 60ies, married the mc5-manager and shot great pictures of them, of Iggy, of Martin Luther King etc.

Formed in Nov. 71' by the 3 Hackney brothers, they were influential pioneers of the genre and, along with Pure Hell, the first all-black proto-punk/punk band.
In memory of Lewis Allan Reed, American musician, guitarist, singer and main songwriter of the proto punk / rock band The Velvet Underground, passed away today in 2013 at the age of 71.
