Hmm, just noticed that info.gigaset.net is no longer resolving. It was the backend for some services provided by Germany's last manufacturer of #DECT and mobile phones, #Gigaset, to users of its IP phones. Gigaset had gone bankrupt last year and was bought by #VTech earlier this year.
They have recently fired a quarter of employees.
I guess, they are more interested in Gigaset's manufacturing capabilities in Europe than the phone business.
@philpem Here's a 15 year old post describing how to provide custom RSS feeds to a #Gigaset phone by having info.gigaset.net resolve to a local web server. Includes a Ruby script. I haven't tried it yet, however.

Das Amtsgericht Münster hat das Regelinsolvenzverfahren gegen die Gigaset AG eröffnet. Der Telefonhersteller hatte im September Insolvenzantrag gestellt und ist nach eigenen Angaben zahlungsunfähig.
#gigaset, the company behind my smartphone (GX6) has apparently gone bankrupt. 😏 I wonder if I'll be able to install updated versions of some #degoogled#android#rom or even #linux on it, even though it's a very niche device. I am still running Android 12 and have been eagerly awaiting the long-announced update to 13. And now I'm afraid there will be no more updates at all.
