#Gamers of Mastodon, your #Monday reminder to scroll back through #ScreenshotSaturday posts from this weekend. 😄 Check out all the awesome games being worked on, like:
What was your first online PvP experience? For me, it was C&C Tiberian Sun, on a 56k modem some time in 1999. After that I had a long gap until Splinter Cell double Agent in 2006!
Hey Bandits! Hope you've all had a wonderful bank holiday Monday (if you're in the UK).
Sorry for the quiet one, today. I have been sinking myself into a family outing, but I have also been delving into Theme Park World and wanted to share some memories with you 🥰
Any #linux#gamers out there have any luck running #ffxiv? I've tried the xivlauncher flatpak on Mint, and the game runs but I get like 8 fps. Using the exact same hardware as my wife, who runs the game with no issues on Windows.
(I'm content to keep playing on console, but I want to see if I can try to lure her away from Windows. Being able to keep using xivlauncher would likely be non-negotiable for her.)
I was initially using x11, but switching to Wayland doesn't fix the issue. The in-game configuration can't seem to see my graphics card which could be part of it.
Huh, so what other #ASEAN#gamers have mentioned, South-East Asia now have a better ping to European gaming servers than US West Coast (or any US-based gaming servers).
This is interesting. I'm going to expand my test in the future. But for now, the results are the same with or without VPN. I guess ASEAN now have a direct connection to the EU IX and uses the latest technology?
I wonder where our connection passes through to get to the EU.
Here in the Philippines, our connection goes through:
Taiwan or Hong Kong
From there it travels the Pacific Ocean to US West Coast.
From US West Coast, it travels to Central.
From Central to East Coast.
From East Coast to Europe.
If we now have a connection direct to EU IX, then it means we're no longer passing through the US?
So #Gamers & #JRPG fans... I'm struggling with Octopath Traveler 2. I can handle random battles, but that combined with super disjointed stories & very restrictive party management is making the game less fun and more burdensome and/or disruptive.
I'm thinking of switching (pun intended) to Terra Memoria for a fun, cozy experience.
My take is the first sentence is usually pronounced by someone who clearly hasn't anything to do with developing a game, creating a world, its lore and everything around. He needs to push sales and that's it.
The second sentence is an exaggeration, as it would leave said developers without a just reward for their work.
Increasingly upset that the PS4 disk drive has given up and now even our 5 year old catch up (can you believe it's been 5 years?!) will have to wait. One day we will be able to use discs again but that day is not today.
Tonight we're having a Halloween double feature! Baldur's Gate 3 from 7pm to 9pm GMT, and then the new RoboCop Rogue City from 9:30 to whenever we get too tired.
