Batteries in EVs are a stop-gap measure at best. They are RIDICULOUSLY heavy and expensive. With this solution, vehicles could carry much smaller batteries, driving costs down.
Someone told me they bought a plug-in hybrid because they drive to Galveston regularly, from Dallas. And that there aren't any fast chargers in Galveston, so they had to buy a hybrid.
