#Car update! Yesterday I’ve done a 180km round trip to drop my boys off to my parent’s countryside house, highway speed, ACC one way, country roads back. Much better fuel economy.
Also, I’ve pushed it a bit on the highway and it went 170km/h with no effort. I’d push it more if not the kids in the car and because I was already way over the speed limit.

@unnameduser It was probably the last time a mainstream manufacturer there tried to do something different, though the niche players kept trying cool things, e.g. the McLaren F1. And maybe the 1980 Austin Mini Metro would count as sufficiently different, too. It might not look that unusual today, but I still remember what a big deal it was then.
En route to #Geneva to attend a #PhD jury at the Geneva #observatory, which is located near the French border outside Geneva.
Instead of renting a #car, as I used to do in the past, this time I’m renting… a bike to go from the station to my #hotel (about 16km away) and the diary to the observatory.
@AlexSanterne@academicchatter Congrats, it's a great way to get around the Geneva area (which is mostly flat), and there are very nice routes between the town centre and the observatory.
I came across this charming car with a cherry blossom design in the heart of Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn, New York CIty. The find was fitting since there were many cherry blossom trees in the area when I stumbled upon the car on April 23, 2024.
