This is it everyone, the night I finally beat Geppetto with Charlie. I'm on the back porch, with great weather, great music in my earbuds, and a Mnt Dew Melon Zero Sugar. If the stars aren't aligning tonight, I don't know if they ever will.
I got the chance to play another #solo game of #Meadow. Barely squeaked out a win, 51 to 49. If you want a peaceful and relaxing 30 minute play, definitely check this #BoardGame out.
Second solo game of the evening was #Libertalia#WindsOfGalecrest and I got myself a win, 85 to 80. This #game has a super underrated #solo mode to it that I wish got more love.
First #solo#game of the evening was #ArkNova, but sadly, it was a loss. Hard to get used to how rapidly breaks come towards the end of this game. I ended up with a ton of money but nothing to do with it at end. Plus, getting all my workers out but getting ZERO bonuses from them because of the player mat I had, was detrimental.
Fortunate to have a bit of time tonight to myself as well as not too many responsibilities first thing in morning. About to see how many of my recent favorite #solo#games I can sneak in before the old man in me tells me to go to bed.
Played a couple of rounds of nmbr 9 tonight. It's another tetris style game where you have to stack numbers on top of each other. They have to lay on at least two other numbers and can't overhang in any way. #tabletopgaming#boardgames#tabletopgames#boardgame
We’re back with Wacky Races on This is How We Roll! Watch a full play-through and also see how Will and Sarah play games together and what they do differently to overcome Will’s vision disabilities. This is how we roll!
I was reading a thread on Reddit about another #BoardGame#KickStarter disaster (note to self, don't back mini heavy board games) and it got me thinking, what were the last #TTRPG Kickstarters that really crapped the bed? The ones that I stand out are almost a decade or more old at this point.
82 days since last playing #ArkNova (not that I'm counting, by the way), so I'm glad we are getting it to the table tonight. We only really set it aside because of the recent influx of other #games to the collection.
Here is also a pic of our current stats. I won the last game, so I feel that Lindsey will be looking for a comeback tonight.
If the previous picture of #ArkNova I posted intrigues you, but you haven't heard or seen anything else of the game, check out our nifty 3 min overview of it here:
As mentioned in #Pratchat67, @McKenzie_Ben made an unboxing video when he first opened our copy of The Witches #boardgame. It’s up on our Ko-Fi page now!
Videos like this are a bonus for our subscribers and supporters. If you like the #podcast, consider joining them - you can give us as little as the price of a cup of tea to see it!
While I put the finishing touches on a few more text reviews as well as start up filming my videos for #FinalGirl please check out my latest vids on #Meadow and #Tiletum
i've been following hashtags for a while now. i turn off shares (boosts) and replies so they don't appear in my timeline (there's too much sharing going on out there), but then follow a handful of hashtags (like #woodworking and #crystallang and #boardgame) to see more of what i like!
Another play of the Prelude to Revolution #boardgame by #compassgames
This time teaching @zeotter . I played the Revolutionary side. Setting up the Revolutionaries for the end game is a challenge. Kicking out the Tsar isn’t difficult. Controlling the rise in Unrest, building organizations, all while undermining the loyal Government troops is. Good game though. #hexesforever#boardgames
Today is the day! Please join @Panda8ngel , @CrystalDax & friends (including me at 8-10pm PT) for some fun trick taking games, #boardgame#giveaways, and fun shenanigans! They just reached their $2000 goal and the donations are still rolling in for the National Center for Transgender Equality, so they'll be giving away a copy of Frosthaven from Cephalofair (US only)!
Monday night #VCSBG#boardgames & #craftbeer in Moorpark, CA. Haven’t played Obsession aka Downton Abbey the #boardgame since the before times. It’s heavy on the theme & a bit too random for the tight #EuroGames fan. If you immerse yourselves in the theme it flows nicely. Keep the matriarch of the family at hand to kick out those unwanted guests! But only once they are of no further use!
Quacks with expansion and plastic bits, Not Alone, Cosmic Encounter, & Incan Gold hit the other tables.
Last night I played "Class Struggle", a 1978 #boardgame designed to teach #Marxist theory. The game was designed by Bertell Ollman, a professor of politics at NYU.
At the beginning of the game, players roll the "genetic dice" to determine their class: Capitalist, Workers, Farmers, Students, etc
Class Struggle obviously draws inspiration from Monopoly, but I think Cosmic Encounter (published in 1977) may have been inspiration for CS's asymmetric rules (depending on which class you play).
I painted up the figures for Scythe (the boardgame) a while ago.
I kept to the official colour schemes for the characters, and the army colours for the mechs.
I also added basing to the figures but left the edges as plain plastic.
All this helps the figures remain recognisable for gaming.
@rdm has inspired me to finally do an #introduction - I think he's been on Mastodon less than 24 hours, and me, well, I've been active a little while. Better late than never?
Kaya, nganyang kwerl leece, wer ngany Whadjak #Nyoongar boodja-k nyininy. I give my respect to the Nyoongar people, and to the Elders of the past, present and those who are to come.
For tens of thousands of years they have lived, worked and played and cared for the land of South West Australia.
They have been very kind to share their #noongarlanguage and their culture with me and I deeply appreciate that.
Likewise my respect goes out to the Elders of First Nations everywhere.
Hello, my name is leece, and I live on Whadjuk Nyoongar boodja. I have a passion for nature and #citizenscience and am a moderator for the Western Shield Camera Project on Zooniverse.
Pronoun wise she/her is fine although I think baal/baalap is better. I'm an #artist - I have a Diploma in Fine Art (sculpture) but mostly 2d these days.
