Just had my first exchange across networks with @shreyanjain.net@bsky.brid.gy and it was quite seamless. I think I am officially on team bridge. #fediverse#bluesky#bridgyfed
#Bluesky tip: if you're running some kind of company/org account that's posting to Twitter/Mastodon etc. and you could consider posting to Bluesky too, but you need to integrate it into some existing system, there is a command line tool someone wrote here: https://github.com/mattn/bsky - it should be possible to integrate it with anything that lets you run a shell command. Handles images, link facets etc.
Replay Crew! We had a fun romp through tech headlines this week! https://somegadgetguy.com/b/44j
Jack Dorsey is no longer on the board of BlueSky. We're wrapping up the closing arguments in Google's anti-trust case. The Rabbit R1 is an app. Sony's marketing materials for the next XPERIA leak.
And we should probably chat about this next iPad thing-y...
Do consumers still have hope or/and faith on this #socialmedia?
»Jack Dorsey says he’s no longer on Bluesky’s board:
The #Twitter founder has been backing away from the decentralized project he once funded.
Twitter founder #JackDorsey is apparently no longer on the board of #Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform he helped start. Yesterday, an #X user asked him if he was still on the company’s board, and Dorsey responded, without further elaboration, “no.”«
So #Bluesky is looking for a new board member to replace Jack Dorsey who initiated the project, got it funded, then gradually got less interested and now dropped out without much explanation.
I'm afraid that is not a ringing endorsement of the project.
(I don't know what's the status of the "10 users" limit, at least the Bridgy PDS got it lifted, but even if it's not announced yet I think it's also going away / or will be relaxed soon)
From The Verge: Jack Dorsey says he’s no longer on Bluesky’s board
> There’s seemingly no evidence that Dorsey is off the Bluesky board yet, apart from his post. The company still lists him as a board member, along with its CEO, Jay Graeber, and Jabber / XMPP inventor Jeremie Miller.
Jack Dorsey is crawling back to Twitter, licking Elon’s boots, calling the site “freedom technology”. In case anyone wondered about Jack’s political alignment: it’s far right, techno-fascist probably.
On related news: Jack #Dorsey is no longer with #BlueSky. Instead, he's lauding the "freedom" of #Twitter (and apparently no longer believed in "building a social network that puts people in control of their experience", from the subtext of the BlueSky announcement stating the requirements for Dorsey's replacement).
If you are a #Bluesky person but you miss your peeps on the #Fediverse / #Mastodon, bridge your account and follow them directly from Bluesky. Simple instructions here (detailed by me):
