Question for #WordPress experts: you can tweak the size of for example the title on the page. But you cannot change how it looks in the editor right? I find this weird because the editor should provide you a WYSIWYG imo, or is this to complicated to achieve in WordPress?

Something I frequently need in Siren is a flowchart to help explain how different affiliate programs work, so I'm putting together a flowchart block. Making good use of the LeaderLine library and core's group block, as well as an existing card block I already had laying around. Really loving how much less code I'm writing to do simple stuff like flex layouts with full site editing.
I'm still getting used to using a full site theme for WordPress. But WOW today was a win. I'm working on setting up the documentation portal for Siren, and literally just created a custom post type, and that was the extend of the code. I'm able to build all of the template layouts for the post type in the FSE context.

My first #PHP was 8.0, still in school, and I confess that I began learning it with the prejudice of it being a junky, terrible language everybody was making fun of. Fast forward ~1 year later, after finishing my internship, where I used full stack #Laravel mainly, and having discovered that not only it wasn't that bad, but really a pleasure to work with. I’m working on the launch documentation for Siren. I’m pretty comfortable with video, so I decided a great place to start is by building a getting started course using Lifter LMS. I think that’ll translate into text fairly fast.

1️⃣ Wer eine Webseite betreibt, die unter ein paar hundert Anfragen pro Minute(!) nach HTML-Seite und Hauptbild zusammenbricht, macht etwas falsch.
Das sind zusammen maximal 10 Requests pro Sekunde und wenige Megabit/s(!!!).
2️⃣ Auch ich hatte eine solche #Wordpress-Seite, die dann unter 40k Requests/Stunde von HN zusammenbrach. Das Limit war Wordpress, nicht CPU, RAM oder DSL-Uplink!

@marcel@kubikpixel Es ist mir ein Rätsel wie man #WordPress pauschalisiert in der Form abstempeln kann. Nach meiner Erfahrung sind es eher schlecht programmierte Plugins und Themes, die für solche Probleme sorgen. CPU und RAM spielen dadurch leider durchaus auch eine Rolle. Mit https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/simply-static/ kann man sich z.B. statische Seiten aus WordPress heraus generieren lassen. Damit hat man dann keinerlei Sorgen mehr diesbezüglich.
