As my obsession with fighting games moves into yet another week, I had to look up my favourite one on the Wii.
Review for Tatsunoko vs Capcom from NGamer 45 - January 2010 (UK)
Hello sweet #gamers and awesome friends! It's the #WiiKend here again...
So I thought I'd kick off with a game I bought and then never played.... Yay for backlogs and all that, right? 😉
Anyone played this one? It's the #Nintendo#Wii game Chocobo's Dungeon.
Review for Super Mario Kart Wii from Official Nintendo Magazine 28 - April 2008 (UK)
I still don't care for all the hate that this entry gets.
It remains one of my favourite entries in the system and I always play it with the steering wheel.
I just wish the battle mode was better...
Mario Kart on Wii with the kid all last night and today. Such a great game. Maybe the best Kart. A few years back my kid unlocked everything in the game. It took a while and looked tough. He's playing manual transmission and I have to stick with automatic- gives me just a SLIGHT edge sometimes. He's too damn good at this game 🤣
Trying to put a disc drive from one Wii into another for a friend (with feline supervision). A bit of a nightmare to get this odd custom green case off (it says Talismoon? Found the Wii at Goodwill like this, cool looking case, but missing buttons, couldn't even eject my disc. Total no-go).
The set of tools I grabbed helps. Hope taking apart the regular Wii to install the drive is less tough 🤣
I recently installed LaunchBox on my Ryzen/Windows rig and it's enabled me to get into PSP/Wii/GameCube/DS. I've had the ROMs since forever, but I could barely ever get RetroArch to locate them. Now I have box art and the controls are reasonably well configured!!
An elderly relative has downsized to a smaller apartment, and I asked whether they wanted anything for the new place. The reply? "A Nintendo, so I can play Bowling."
They mean a Nintendo Wii, and Wii Sports. It is, as far as I know, the only video game this person ever enjoyed. Physically, they can't go bowling and swing a 4+ kg ball anymore without injuring themselves, but they can handle a Wiimote just fine.
