Today, I revamped my blog theme ( https://it-notes.dragas.net ) and moved it to @OpenBSDAms VPS, powered by httpd.
BunnyNet stands as the CDN upfront, can we still consider it hosted on OpenBSD? 🤔

puppygirlhornypost,
@puppygirlhornypost@transfem.social avatar

@stefano @OpenBSDAms yes because CDNs (including caching proxies) should be using non authoritative responses since they're just forwarding the message in my opinion. The content is still hosted on OpenBSD

puppygirlhornypost,
@puppygirlhornypost@transfem.social avatar

@stefano @OpenBSDAms Would you count the publishers of books to be the original author? If not it's still hosted on OpenBSD. All CDNs do is much like how books have copies and how those copies are printed at places in different regions to make it more accessible and to decrease shipping time. Really like this analogy actually I'm keeping it for explaining the point of caching proxies and other CDN services.

#webhosting #fotos #videos #onlinespeicher #filesharing

Any Firefox website Wizards out there? Even though my website has a verified and valid (LetsEncrypt) SSL certificate, Firefox is reporting that "Parts of the webpage are not encrypted”.

I can't find any other information on why this is occuring, I do have a couple iframes in the page (alberniweather.ca) and lots of images including some that are hosted on Google cloud.

Any help is appreciated.

@chris

You have a few http requests going out, so probably the reason for the “Not secure message”. I see 30 requests to servers geo.weather.gc.ca and cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca. These may of course be loaded via a JavaScript too.

Quite a few cross-origin requests are being blocked by FF (play.google.com, doubleclick.net) and a few other tracking scripts blocked by my adblocker extensions.

These errors were on the start page. Data View page loaded cleanly, as did Almanac View. The Archives all returned 403 Forbidden. Webcams and Timelapses were also fine. Air Quality has the same http servers as your start page, it seems. I didn't check the Reports - Links though.

Should I move my website hosting from Netlify to Neocities? To support the small web etc. And the supporter plan lets you host unlimited sites!

@liz I've wondered the same thing!

I do use several useful Netlify utilities though like the rewrites and forms and build hooks - I'm sure there are ways to do these without Netlify, but...

Question: Let's say you own 10 domain names that you're not actually using. What is the best and cheapest (<1€ per month?) way you know of to temporarily park them somewhere safe?

Ideally, I am looking for a (self-hosted?) solution with an end result similar to oldskool #tpilb

Who do you recommend for WordPress webhosting? TIA
