#WordPress devs working on Windows with #WSL: what's your setup look like? I'm running #LocalWP and using #VSCode, and it seems like it's best if the files I'm working with are in the WSL filesystem. I'm hoping that keeping a theme folder in WSL and synlinking to the Windows filesystem for LocalWP will work ok but it doesn't seem ideal.

The guide provides every option available, too. Starting with using their Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), to using a Virtual Machine, and even on "Bare Metal" alongside Windows.
That's right, Microsoft now tells you how to dual-boot Linux. 🤯
First, typing "code ." in a shell used to return immediately; now I have to type "code . &" to force it into the background. I assume this was purposeful? If so, why?
Now today, it refused to exit with a "waiting to update Visual Studio Code" dialog box for about 60 seconds before erroring out with a message about being unable to update a file handle.
Chelsea win their opening game against Spurs 2-1 in the WSL.
This game was a lot closer than I expected. Spurs could so easily have grabbed a draw if not for Musovic, the hero of the Swedish World Cup team, in goal for them. She made a couple of outstanding saves.
Great match! Season looks promising for Spurs if they keep this level of performance up, especially when Beth England comes back.
You'd expect Chelsea to have the upper hand, but they haven't really had a comfortable game at all so far. Spurs have had some nice attacking moments and barring a really good save from Musovic in the Chelsea net this game would be even.
A lot of the Chelsea players were involved in the World Cup. Spurs look a little fresher for sure.
The late kick-off is the main event for me in the opening day of the Women's Super League.
Tottenham Women take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Going to be a really tough ask for Spurs to get anything from the game for sure, but anything can happen in football as the Arsenal vs. Liverpool game earlier proved. Time for shock number 2 of the season already? 😅
Man Utd score in the 92nd minute to win the game against Villa in the opening game of the WSL!
Veteran striker, 35 year old Rachel Williams, finally finds a way past the excellent van Domselaar in the Villa net.
Villa struggled after going down to 10. They'll be disappointed not to get something out of this game as Utd weren't looking that sharp. The red card was insurmountable.
Some great games on today in the opening day of the Women's Super League!
Aston Villa v Man Utd (12.30pm)
Everton v Brighton (1pm)
Bristol City v Leicester City (1pm)
Arsenal v Liverpool (2pm)
West Ham v Man City (3pm)
Chelsea v Tottenham (5.30pm)
All times UK.
Villa, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all playing at their club's Premier League stadiums so there's gonna be some big crowds for the opening day action.
England's top flight women's #football league, the Women's Super League, begins this weekend after the World Cup this summer! Opener is #AstonVilla vs. #ManUtd on Sunday at Villa Park, 12:30pm UK time, BBC 2.

Count the number of binary bits of difference between two characters in #Perl:
% perl -E 'say scalar @{[ sprintf("%b", ord "D" ^ ord "C") =~ /1/g ]}'
3
Explanation:
1 . ord gets characters' code points
2. ^ XORs them (1 bit for each different bit)
3. sprintf to binary string
4. =~ /1/g matches every 1
5. […] creates array reference so list context captures every match
6. @{…} dereferences to array
7. scalar counts array elements
8. say outputs result
