Perso, mes ost de jeux préférées, c'est :
Outer Wilds, Celeste, Super Meat Boy, Crypt of the Necrodancer, the binding of Isaac, FTL, Gris, Minecraft.
J'écoute presque autant ca, que mes autres albums mdr
You probably don't know it, but it's basically electronic music for metalheads. Perturbator & Carpenter Brut play at Metal festivals. I can say it's also clear from the public at their concerts.
Originally, it grew from synthwave, but is much darker.
I'd say it's best described as being the sort of OST you'd imagine in a retrofuturistic thriller movie from the 80ies that would be set far in the future.
Can we just appreciate how HARD #sonic music goes!? Even in the lesser games, there always seems to be a lot of effort put into the Soundtracks, and #SonicFrontiers seems to go especially hardcore on the cyberspace stages and boss fights.
"I'm Here", and stages 2-6, 3-2, 3-6, and 4-1 are my frequent listens
Kingdom Hearts, for all of its much-due ridicule, really does music very well. "Dearly Beloved," which is the menu screen/probably most recognizable theme across all the games, is such a rich and beautiful melody. I just heard Hayward's orchestral arrangement and its very hard not to feel a deep swell of emotions from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxblKlPf89E #music#videogamemusic#kingdomhearts
Someone calling themselves Muramasa made a cover of Old-Fashioned Lover Girl from Galleria. This is my favorite track from the game so I'm super happy that I stumbled across it (yay YouTube recommendation algorithm?)
I'm surprised that any track got a cover given that I don't think the series is that popular. That's a shame because I love this series so much.
Since @miona is still on hiatus for the hashtag, there's no formal VGM Wednesday theme.
So, I'm going with my favorite K.K. Slider song, K.K. Robot Synth, cause I want to share it and keep the hashtag around this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l85224VytME
Little MDMRN (turning 15 in May) has gotten into cassettes lately. My parent's got them, effectively, a Walkman with a built in speaker. They've been blasting their one cassette, Tally Hall's "Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum" for a while.
I ordered them the Celeste soundtrack on cassette. I told them about it because it was supposedly 3 weeks out.
It's already shipping. They'll get it in less than a week from when I ordered it.
