Rotor #clouds over the Swiss #Alps, as seen from Ausserbinn, Canton of #Valais. These are caused by lee #waves (a kind of gravity wave) over #mountains. Extremely dangerous for aircraft, can exist even in clear air. We can see them in this #timelapse thanks to the condensed moisture entrained by wave.
Altesch #Glacier#Valais#Switzerland with Trugberg (3932m asl) in the background. The black streaks are the lateral moraines of the different glacier tributaries. On the sides of the mountains, you can spot the blank walls and the upper debris layers of the former lateral moraines were the glacier surface was (c. 100m higher than today) at the peak of the Little Ice Age (c. 1850).
This was our last excursion to the Swiss #Alps this year. But not the last glacier (stay tuned).
Vu que j'ai encore rien reçu en rapport avec l'école de sous-officier à l'armée (ordre de marche ou lettres), je vais poser ça là.
