DoDonPachi is a shmup STG by Cave and Atlus released for arcades in 1997, created to surpass Battle Garegga by Raizing. It is a refinement of its prequel DonPachi, with more enemies and bullets, quicker powerups and a MAXIMUM surplus bomber system.

  1. Currently working on mission 1's second run. When you beat the final boss of a mission, you can run the mission again with slightly stronger enemies.
  2. For example, bosses will have additional support or attacks.

  1. The second and final boss of Potatostrike's first mission has been added.
  2. With that, the first mission of Potatostrike is almost done. All that's missing is being able to end the mission or do a second run.

  1. Further progress made on the first level of the game. A balance pass might be necessary later down the line.
  2. A coding error lead to an interesting change. The high damage HEAT rocket now pierces through ships.

Thunder Cross is a STG by Konami released in 1988 for arcades. It takes place in Gradius universe and has similar gameplay, yet the weapons in the US and JP versions are very different. Released for Arcade Archives in 2021 and Konami's AC Classics Anniversary Collection in 2019.

  2. Next on the list is setting up the camera system, creating a proper mission 1, and replacing placeholder assets.

Touch Force is an indie shmup STG by SSG released for IOS Devices in 2014 and for Windows in 2023. Hold down to keep firing, but periodically stop to avoid dangers. If you don't fire for too long you will lose power, so keep that in mind across the game's five stages.

Okay collective Fediverse Hive Mind, I need your help with a trivial bit of knowledge.

There was a shoot ‘em up from the 80’s or 90’s that had the whole “Japanese shoot ‘em up of the 80’s and 90’s biomechanical” aesthetic.

One of bosses was a classic shmup wall boss. It had a woman’s face in matte metal, until you deal enough damage at which point the mask breaks off and you see the body horror alien thing underneath.

Was it R-Type? Some other shmup? It’s driving me crazy.

  1. Weapon upgrades have been added! You can upgrade each weapon twice, increasing their strength substantially.
  2. The current plan is to set up an experience system that will reward a weapon upgrade upon leveling up.
