🆕 release of section-bibliographies v1.0.0, a #pandoc#LuaFilter that allows to produce separate bibliographies for each chapter or section. Works with #Quarto, too.
The new version comes with a number of performance improvements, as well as additional customization options. https://github.com/pandoc-ext/section-bibliographies
It always annoys me that both #OrgMode and #Pandoc do not appear to have a 'clean'/plain flag for generating output.
I want 'plain' LaTeX and HTML with no additions or custom elements...no \tightlist in list environments, nor <div> around sections. Just plain unadulterated markup, that is all...
@jfdm One option for academic writing could be #Quarto. It uses pandoc under the hood, but has scientific publishing set as one of the goals. See, e.g., https://quarto.org/docs/extensions/listing-journals.html
Any LaTeX acceptance problems would be treated as a bug there, I'd assume.

I fancy using #Mastodon as a comment system for my blog but the solutions I found were made for #Hugo. How bad would it be if I reused them in my #Quarto blog?
You can now host #Quarto sites on Hugging Face using the new Quarto Space template.
#HuggingFace is the most used open platform for AI. We think that #QuartoPub is one of the best frameworks for scientific writing, making it a perfect tool for the Hugging Face community.
We’re very proud to support Hugging Face’s effort to build AI models under #OpenSource licenses and we can’t wait to see what people build! 🤝
Hi #rstats folks, does anybody have experience with submitting .tex files generated by #quarto to the ArXiV? Will it just work? If not, how much will I suffer to make it work?
Excited to report my talk "Reclaiming My Time with Quarto: A Journey from WordPress to Simplicity" has been accepted to #PositConf2024! I'll be talking about how I transformed my Wordpress site to Quarto (www.tylermw.com) using WP's XML export along with R to automate converting complex javascript and media-laden posts to Quarto, and the many improvements to my site (and personal time!) that resulted.
(Plus a short discussion of making 3D buildings in R!)
quarto will render this as three separate lists, so the sub-list will not be indented. I can manually insert a <ul></ul> and get something close to what I want, but am I missing some other work-around for this?
Early bird tickets for #CascadiaR 2024 are now live until April 8! Join us in #Seattle June 21-22 for two days filled with insightful #workshops and #talks on all things #R. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a vibrant community of #rstats enthusiasts and experts.
Q for #rstats#quarto users in #vscode - am I right that there is no way to see the final appearance of a plot other than rendering the document? There is no preview - other than in rstudio - which gives an accurate representation? The vsc plot window follows its own dimension (distorts proportions).
Love vs code but re-rendering the whole doc for each plot iteration feels quite cumbersome. Tagging the mighty @andrew since I think there was a related discussion on GH which I can't find..🙏🙏👏👏
@zoowalk@andrew Actually, the in-line preview can be quite different when show_text(enable=TRUE) is set. Then I do need to render the document to see the final plot. #rstats#quarto
