Another fantastically incorrect #OldTimeRadio pilot show -- "The Batman Mystery Club."
Robin, in a heavy Noo Yawk accent, introduces Batman to the gathered group of kids as "Bruce Wayne, otherwise known as The Batman!" Characters in the story call Dick Greyson "Robin" and Bruce Wayne, "Bruce." It's a spooky closed room murder story set in England, and has nothing to do with the caped crusader fighting crime.
This is for anyone who is into #Radio#History I’m looking for good archives of radio news from the 1930s particularly from places such as what was then known as Czechoslovakia, Norway, Finland, Poland and anything else.
I’ve got a bit from Germany but what I really want is full length broadcasts, not 20 minute compilations of little tiny clips, I hate that stuff.
I want to be able to download these as well. New #Audio#AudioHistory#WorldWarII#OldTimeRadio
If you're missing baseball already, you should know that @internetarchive's Old Time Radio collection includes hundreds of recordings of full baseball games from 1934 to 1973. World Series, all star games and regular season, from Ruth and Gehrig to Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan.
A few years ago, there was an #oldtimeradio podcaster who released an episode every Friday called the Friday Four-Pack. It was what it sounds like: four back-to-back episodes of one show. At some point they stopped doing it, and I’ve always missed it, and I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that if I want to hear it again I’ll have to do it for myself.
So here’s the inaugural Fediverse Friday Four Pack. It’s not a podcast; just a playlist of four episodes.
I know what evil lurks in the hearts of men. A world traveller with multiple roles in life. Tall, dark, and cloudy. Lots of laughs. Really, lots and lots of laughs.
