I recently bought a chinese MiniPC with Win11 Pro preinstalled on it. Sinc I will put a Linux on that system, I wonder how to preserve the Win11 Pro stuff for reinstallation.
How can I identify if an install partition is on there?
How can I preserve it (maybe by creating a disk image with gparted or similar)?
How can I extract the windows key for reinstallation?
After dealing with pre-installed malware on this mini-PC, I'm FINALLY done reviewing the hardware! https://somegadgetguy.com/b/459
"Besides the malware" does an Intel Core i9 make sense in a system like this?
#consulta#minipc#geekom#compras

「 The device supports up to 16GB DDR5 memory, can take an M.2 NVMe SSD and/or a 2.5-inch SATA drive for storage, and also provides two video outputs through HDMI and DisplayPort, as well as a few USB ports, an RJ45 console port, and optional support for WiFi and 4G LTE connectivity 」
Not so sure if I can trust those Mini PCs from Chinese manufacturers because of this. There is instances of preinstalled malware that steals passwords, credit card information, and more :bunhdthink:
Sure, the manufacturer eventually admits it, but their reputation is already ruined.
Granted, if you do a clean install of Windows or install Linux, it will be okay, but most users will use it as is.
It appears that my laptop died, and it makes no sense to repair it 😢 For the last few years it served us as a home media server.
Any recommendations for a modular mini-PC? Looking for something repairable, upgradable, open, powerful enough to survive the ever-growing performance requirements.
I've been inactive on my other YouTube channel for a couple of years because I wanted to focus on my astronomy hobby. But I'm trying to get back into making content there as well. I uploaded this review of a Mini PC Last week which I'm planning to use for astro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3jrV09YuxI
