Today, after the long sequence of posts on Dacia, we’re going about as far from Romanian budget motors as it’s possible to get with this beautiful Mercedes W198 300 SL ‘gull-wing” snapped at last year’s Techno Classica. This is a very early car from 1954, the first year of production in the rare (twelve cars) colour 543 strawberry red metallic. I think @richardknott posted a car in the same shade (possibly this actual one) last year.
Mercedes introduces the world's first plug-in hybrid fuel cell production car with the GLC SUV. This innovative vehicle combines hydrogen fuel cell technology with a battery pack for a 50km electric range.
The compact fuel cell unit is 30% smaller, 30% more efficient, and uses 90% less platinum compared to previous models. It fits into a standard Mercedes engine compartment, allowing for potential future hydrogen variants. The GLC F-Cell is driven by an electric motor attached to the rear wheels and offers versatility in powertrain layout.
Additionally, Mercedes plans to equip the S500e with similar battery pack technology and wireless charging capability. Despite advancements in electrification, Mercedes remains optimistic about the future of the internal combustion engine (ICE) and aims to continue offering diverse powertrain options.
The CEO of Mercedes-Benz is speaking the obvious truth. BEVs are simply more expensive to build and therefore won't be competitive anytime soon. Everyone should have said this from day 1.
But instead of admitting this obvious fact, we have been gaslighted by BEV fanatics into believing otherwise. A solemn reminder that lies cannot be used to support a cause, even one you think is just.
Mercedes-Benz is now the next company to scale back BEV projects. As I keep on saying, BEVs are a fad. They are an expensive and unsustainable type of vehicle, and cannot be the future of transportation. It mirrors the past green fad of biofuel powered cars, and it will be abandoned in the same way.
Bei E-Autos hinkten deutsche Hersteller zuletzt hinterher. Doch nun können sie auf dem größten Absatzmarkt China ein deutliches Wachstum verzeichnen. Ist das der Befreiungsschlag? Von Volker Hirth.
Yes, we are talking a lot about @Vivaldi in cars. We are very proud of Vivaldi being available in cars from #Polestar, #Renault, #Volvo, #Audi and #Mercedes-Benz, with #Porsche, #Ford, and #Lincon coming soon, as well as more vehicles from the VW group and a lot more. It is a big deal!
At the same time, what allows us to build a great browser for cars is the effort we put into our desktop and mobile browsers in general. We are upping our efforts there as well!
To find out what this is all about, just download #Vivaldi from:
