When SARS broke out in #Taiwan in ‘03, the WHO denied Taiwan’s request for the virus’ DNA to combat it.
The WHO told Taiwan’s health minister at the time to ask China.
#China refused the request and 137 people died in the following four months.
Taiwan has been denied WHO membership for five decades due to political reasons, says Dr. Chien-Jen, Taiwan’s Minister of Health at the time of the SARS outbreak.
Dr. Chen believes that if #China had acted responsibly over #COVID, there could have been a chance to save #Wuhan from #lockdown, or even to prevent the virus from traveling around the world.
#Covid#Lockdown days. Picking up his wife for a final check up from a quarantine center and maintaining social distance - Mizo style 😁 Checking if she's comfortable is the cute part. #Archives
Dass der erste COVID-Lockdown schon vier Jahre her ist, kriege ich im Kopf nicht zusammen.
Mir ist das alles noch sehr nah. Auch wenn seitdem viel passiert ist. #Lockdown
After hoping to have kicked the questions about their handling of the #Covid pandemic & #lockdown into the long grass.... the interim #CovidInquiry report looks likely to be out well before #RishiSunak's 'planned' Autumn election... might this change his mind & see him move to a spring poll to try & minimise #Tory losses.
The problem with kick a can down the road, is when you catch up with it you may find its emptied its contents all over your feet!
After thinking about it for a while, I’ve finally decided to give #Lockdown mode on #iOS and #iPadOS a go. First thing I noticed is that it didn’t auto-connect to my WiFi as usual, claiming it’s insecure 💀 more of a dig at my WiFi security than anything.
I’m interested in how it is gonna perform in day-to-day life and if I’d notice having turned it on as the only impacted piece of software mentioned by @techlore that I actually use is Safari.
By me @Forbes: This Lockdown Mode trick replaces the original on a victim’s iPhone for additional stealth longevity. Advice is to update to iOS 17 which gives LM kernel protection.
If you wanted a good example of 'cognitive dissonance' (or perhaps we should just call it #hypocrisy), you'll not do much better than the revelation that during the period of #lockdown#BorisJohsnon was calling for 'massive fines' for those who broke lockdown regulation.... need I say that at the same time him & his colleague were systematically breaking such rules (during what is now referred to as #partygate).
If it wasn't Johnson I'd be shocked but as it's him I'm just wearily unsurprised!
