I've always thought the "edgy" #Dbrand marketing is childish and pretentious, but it seems they took it up a notch on #Twitter and is currently being somewhat under fire for calling someone, a customer's name as, I quote, "basically Shit Rash" - the customer's name is Bhuwan Chitransh and they were complaining to Dbrand about a skin they purchased.
I say somewhat under fire becos, as often happens with their shenanigans - many overgrown male children will come to their rescue and say shit like "that's just their branding/persona" and that underneath the facade their customer service is excellent and would probably offer the customer they just dissed a free product replacement or the like. Must be nice to be Dbrand to get a "Free Racist" card by their loyal incels.
I have no respect for any content creator who choose to work and even entertain Dbrand's marketing strat that's aimed towards 5 year-old boys honestly, that includes #LTT and #MKBHD.
Our national hero Lee Chong Wei made an appearance in the latest #LTT video in the most unexpected way possible; a test to see if SDR -> HDR content makes greasiness/sweatiness pop more lol.
Btw, this is the company that manages #IVE, #WJSN, and #MonstaX, and more. They're pretty big in South Korea. So unless Elon really bought them out or someone is about to get fired in the #kpop industry for getting their channel #hacked.
Wil eigenlijk een paar dingen van LTTstore.com bestellen. Maar zie nu tijdens de WAN show dat er nog best wel leuke dingen aan komen..... wacht ik af of bestel ik... #LTT#Shopping#Merch#LinusTechTips#LTTstorr
Linux Tech Tips was accused of having a toxic work place where several past employees supported 1 employee who experienced sexual harassment. In your last video, you acknowledged this fact, said you were looking into it, and now in your update "plan" you do not acknowledge it or apologize. Worse, you double-down on how great you believe your HR Department is. Clearly, that is not the case.
I've never worked for Linus Tech Tips, and have only ever been a viewer & worked for a sponsor (NDA, no comment), but I am disgusted
I am not going to watch Linus Tech Tips anymore. All they ever do is double-down, triple-down, and push out PR statements of so-called change, while doubling-down
I wanted to see LTT to make this right. I wanted to see them prove they can be successful. They have not done this
Sexual harassment swept under the rug is bad business
I have nothing else to say... I am truly, genuinely disgusted.
I feel sorry for Former Linus Tech Tips social media manager Madison Reeve. My heart goes out to her. I know what it is like to have previously experienced a toxic work place. I doubt she will ever receive that apology or official recognition. Companies like this never see the wrongs they do not wish to see.
I thank her past co-workers who came forward to support her and did acknowledge Madison Reeve.
I hate to have opinions about how HR is done at companies I've never worked for or done business with, but the more I read about how Madison/Suop was treated at #LTT, the more I wonder why this James guy hasn't been fired years ago.
If I'm going to see that guy reading things from a teleprompter again, then I'm uninstalling the YouTube app from my TV.
@alda ahhh gotcha. Honestly I kind of assumed it was Linus. Every single video with a female guest he's always super cringe at best or a straight up creep at worst.
@Beeks He was the head of the company (and way over his head at that) and ultimately responsible for hiring the dudebros who did the deed and I'd send him on a three month sabbatical without access to social media if I was his PR agent.
His wife was the head of HR and her role is to protect him. (You can imagine where the "big girl pants" comment came from.)
The biggest thing that gets me about this #LinusMediaGroup thing is how bad must the working conditions be where someone felt they needed to record an HR meeting the day after Madison left. Seriously. The person who recorded this meeting must have known SOMETHING about Madison and her situation, or was experiencing the same.
In all my years of working for companies big and small, I have never felt the need to secretly record any meeting, let alone an HR meeting.
You know what else I haven't felt the need to do? Tell an inappropriate joke after an HR meeting.
@governa I still wonder how people follow what is no longer a tech channel but only an advertising and video hodgepodge with dubious quality.
Not to mention what happened to Madison.
