This is wild: #FluidX3D can "SLI" together 🔵 #Intel Arc A770 + 🟢 #Nvidia Titan Xp, pooling 12GB+12GB of their VRAM for one large 450M cell #CFD simulation. Top half on A770, bottom half on Titan Xp. They seamlessly communicate over PCIe. Performance is ~1.7x of what either #GPU could do on its own. 🖖😋🖥🔥 #OpenCL shows its true power here - one implementation works on literally all GPUs at full performance, even at the same time. Happy #SimulationFriday! https://youtu.be/PscbxGVs52o
There is a reason why I've narrowed down my search to either Intel 10th or 11th Gen Core processors, AMD Ryzen, Intel Atom or Xeon D processors for upgrades to my current homelab virtualization servers is due to the lack of official support for P/E-cores. I don't have time to futz around with bodges to maybe get things to work.
And, as a former IT person, I wouldn't want to risk that in any kind of testing or production environment.
@CraftComputing: Does Proxmox work with BIG/little CPUs? Testing Intel's Hybrid Chips in Virtualization!
This would be my first processor in a computer I'd assemble myself. It's my all time favorite and most nostalgic CPU. I'll always adore the Slot 1 design and the, at the time, simplicity of installation.
Intel would go on to launch their most aggressive ad campaign to date featuring the now famous "bunny suit" dancers.
"I'd like to be a 'shake it off' kind of person, but I'm more of a 'cling to it and focus on it until it's irrevocably woven into my psyche' sort of gal."
i need to buy a new #laptop. For the life of me I can't tell what the difference is between processors & how to determine my needs on that front. So little I'm not even sure how to search for it. #Anyhelp? #computer#new#askfedi#ddg#google#intel#amd
I have no idea how such a shitty product can exist. Same price buys you a Chromebook; there are plenty of software libre distraction-free writing apps out there (try opening a terminal and typing "vim"?).
Or you could chicken out and buy a Kindle Fire Max 11 with keyboard case for the same price.
Both of these let you type for more than a day on a charge: the only benefit of the freewrite alpha is an 80 hour battery, which is pointless with USB-C charging everywhere.
@cstross some #TechIlliterate even recommended this shit to me instead if a #Laptop when I was in school.
I told them unless it comes with the same #TTS voice as #StevenHawking has I don't want them to ever be allowed to make any technical decision or suggestion in their life!
Those things are like #TexasInstruments#calculators: an absolute #ripoff given even the shittiest #Netbook with the abundant #Intel#Z3735F#SoC running #OS1337 is more versatile.
And I literally just started that distro.
Intel to get $3.2bn Israeli grant for $25bn chip plant
Israel’s government has agreed to give Intel Corp a $3.2bn grant for a new $25bn chip plant it plans to build in southern Israel.
Intel entered the Israeli market in 1974 and has since opened three research and development centres in different locations as well as a manufacturing plant in Kiryat Gat.
