Looking specifically for new releases to peruse and maybe pick up? These 31 titles were published in January 2024 and February 2024 only. You'll find Mystery, Suspense, Romance, Science Fiction, and Fantasy novels included here!
If you are a Kobo person, both my novels are part of a buy one, get one free promotion over there for the month of February! If you like magic, the 1960s, philosophy, guys kissing, demons, zombies made of compost, crochety grandmothers, libraries, and no third-act breakup, you might like them, so this is a great time to try the series out for cheap.
Hey bookish folks, I'd love your help! How do you find new-to-you books to read?
I'm trying to figure out where to advertise my books now that I have a fourth book out ( https://buy.bookfunnel.com/vxvlyi6b0v ). I'm rather unknown so can't spend big $$ but it's hard to know where is best to find readers. And yet, it's hard to have a budget without readers, too!
We've moved to the reading phase early! The judges were chomping at the bit and rattling the bars eager to get to the books, so we let them in a little early and they're already busy at their reading and sharing their excitement.
Congratulations to all 99 finalists! Check them all out at https://indiestorygeek.com/a/indie-ink-awards-2023
Thanks as always to the amazing @eliotedits for editing it, and to a huge number of people who helped out in different ways, from research to language to childcare.
I have a book coming out Jan 20th!
It's a standalone connected to my Children of the Nexus series (same world, the love-interest here is a main POV in the series)
This book has:
so much banter
strong sibling relationship
strong friendships
friends-to-lovers
gay side characters
main character anxiety rep
diverse cast
deep worldbuilding
action and adventure, wilderness survival style
low fantasy (none of the main group displays clear magic on page)
single PoV, third person past tense
Looking for more stories? These 47 #fantasy books are all themed with friendship. Awesome friends on an epic quest? Yes! Found family rescuing one another? Absolutely. Best friend betrayals? Also a thing...
These books are all offered free for the month of January so check them out!
We have gathered 31 incredible indie authors with queer SFF books into a single sale. From January 17 to January 22, all of their books will be on sale at 99¢, but that’s not the best part.
We’ve put together a fun Buzzfeed-style personality quiz to help you find out which of these books’ queer characters you are!
Just uploaded all my files to Amazon! If you like intrigue, libraries, philosophy, fighting demons or plant zombies, and overall a lot of plot to go with what might actually be kind of a gooey marshmallow center of a gay romance set against the backdrop of the late 1960s, you would like these.
This is the Roundhouse. It was built in 1969. I always thought it was kind of ugly, but it tried to be different and I can respect that. I used to visit various friends here, and I always wanted to jump off the balconies, so I finally wrote a fight scene set here in Old Time Religion.

PSA: pirating site giving away indie and self published books and asking for "donations". They even have a "mission" statement twisting Gaiman's position against DRM to justify pirating thousands of books

If your books are on kindle unlimited, amazon can ding YOU if anyone finds them elsewhere, including pirating sites.

Writers! Where/how did you find & hire your editors (for any kind of editing)? Or if you're looking for one, where/how are you searching? And what's your genre? I'm curious about how your real experiences line up with how editors talk about marketing and visibility. Thanks 💖
Yay! I just made my annual #GoodReads reading goal! I cut it kind of close this year. I'm looking forward to another year of reading in 2024. I'm so grateful to all of my favorite #authors for creating so many fabulous books for me to read. Many are #indieauthors#indieauthor#mmromance@mmromance
#IndieAuthors - Something I have experienced, but haven't seen broadly spoken about online regarding #Facebook advertising: one you place an ad, you're going to get spam messages made to appear like messages from Facebook Ad Services warning you the ad violates Facebook's terms and will be taken down unless you click a provided link. The link goes to a legit-looking scammy page for collecting usernames and passwords.
The holidays are stressful. Treat yourself to a book with a happy ending. Sam and Ulysses meet in September, fight evil together all autumn, and face off against a god in late December, so this is the perfect time of year to read it. Plus, you'll be ready for the sequel in January.
