Given an activitypub server only generally deals with activities it understands & stores data for things it cares about, logically I'd think it must be possible to just split replay all activities to each underlying instance, and to do actor merging at collection level or something.

@linos @thisismissem i.e. placing nginx in front of multiple AP backends and relaying activities to the appropriate backend based on activity type.

Both would have the same domain, but handle activities separately.

It's an interesting idea!

@devnull @linos not even smart forwarding, just forward everything and let each server deal with what they want.

Only the collection endpoints would be a bit problematic. So you'd probably need to give each server their own collections and rewrite their collection URLs

Is there a simple circuit that uses something like pascal’s triangle to output a normal distribution as maybe voltages?

At first I thought of using resistors as voltage dividers— but that is division not random sorting…

@futurebird Fun question. This circuit doesn't calculate Pascal's Triangle directly, but can be analyzed by it. When a ball bounces left or right down a lattice of pegs, Pascal's Triangle counts the number of paths to each peg. A 1-D random walk (i.e. 50-50 +1/-1) simulates such a bouncing ball. Here a bi-directional shift register is driven by a random bit source to track a ball's position as it makes seven steps. A bank of op-amp integrators captures the histogram.
