For those wanting to try them out it's a matter of setting up a #haikuports repository and import those recipes. Mind you, the full frameworks for KDE on #HaikuOS are 137 packages.
In the meantime, #KDevelop and #Itinerary updated locally to latest beta 24.04.90 :)
In the screenshot, KDevelop building latest sources for itinerary/kosmindoormap.
New at #HaikuOS / #HaikuPorts, #KDE#markdown 23.08.5, a nice plugin that let's you preview your markdown files while editing them in #Kate (and others).
Sometimes svgz icons are not so well supported in #HaikuOS#Icon-O-Matic tool (#IOM), having #Karbon around to open them and export them to #SVG sometimes does the trick and we can export the SVG icon to a rdef (text) file so we can use them in our recipes at #haikuports to set the icon on the application.
But somtimes even importing/exporting existing svg icons don't work. #GraphicArtistsNeeded :)
And … it’s live! With @3dEyes pushes for the #KDE frameworks up to latest 5.115.0, I’ve pushed #Tokodon 23.08.5 to #haikuports and builds have finished for 32bit and 64bit, for those using a mastodon client you can now install this on #HaikuOS.
One sidenote (haven’t been able to fix it, but can live with it for now), on 32bit it crashes when you close it down.
Thanks also to @carlschwan for this nice peace of software!
With @3dEyes new pushes to #haikuports to bring up our #KDE frameworks up to 5.115.0 I was able to build latest #Tokodon for KF5 on #HaikuOS 32bit (posting this from the install). :)
#KDE KF6 has been released earlier, congrats on the big move!
Meanwhile pushing some wip to my repository, anyone interested can look into that (meant for #haikuports#HaikuOS ).
Little side-note, most of that work has been based on our current version at haikuports by one of our greatest contributors, so this can only be used to build packages for Haiku until things are working as they should and nothing else is needed.
Still interested? Have a peek at (wip) https://codeberg.org/Begasus/haikuports/src/branch/kde
Hey video-makers! 🎥 This week, we stumbled upon community member @pocketvj crafting cinematic magic with #Kdenlive on a smartphone powered by @postmarketOS and @begasus explored editing on #HaikuOS! ✨ Tell us where do you use Kdenlive. Send your screenshot! 💻🖥️🌌
@kdenlive@pocketvj@kde@postmarketOS@ActionRetro@juanejot Keep in mind I only have the local updated KDE frameworks/libraries/applications on my install, while checking out some of the KDE applications some made it to our depot at #haikuports, #Kdenlive isn't available there (yet). Also with no hardware acceleration I'm guessing real rendering of larger projects won't be such a good idea at this point. :)
@ActionRetro Thanks for your nice reports on #HaikuOS! As one of the #haikuports team members I'm blessed here to have a nice HP Ryzen7 laptop running Haiku as my daily driver, this is also used to build and checkout new ports (including this #Tokodon from #KDE ) :)
New one (on the way?) for #HaikuOS, @LabPlot2 (with #KDE frameworks 5.112.0 and #Qt5), also did on earlier with #KDE frameworks 5.248.0 and #Qt6, patch (first one for me on KDE) is upstream waiting in a PR. :)
@santiago I am posting this from witthin #Tokodon 23.08.4, I've got a PR/MR up at #haikuports, but getting crashes when I build/launch this on the other installs I've tried out so far, so it's not available in the depot yet.
So, there's no python2 package for #Haiku anymore, so I can't build #MAME 0.226 from #HaikuPorts using #HaikuPorter. So I thought I'd just try jumping straight in and modifying the recipe to build MAME 0.259.
I've copied the patch file from the 0.226 port, just to see if it would work without modifying it. So the error I'm seeing might be because of that.
EDIT: It's definitely because of that - git is throwing a wobbly. But I have no idea how to fix it yet. Can I just sha1 the old files?
Managed to manually patch #MAME 0.259 by modifying the patches for 0.226, but clearly there's something missing. I assume something should be happening before the "no rule to make target" error.
Right now I'm not sure who to ask for help. The MAME devs will probably remind me that #HaikuOS is completely unsupported. The #Haiku devs may not be able to help as it's not really a Haiku problem.
