It's not long until the 1st of June, so why not pick up the guitar and learn some catchy tunes for the summer? I've just published version 7.0 of Fretboard, which brings more accurate chord name prediction, note names on hover for the neck top toggles, and a couple of fixes for various small issues encountered since last release. It should be on Flathub very soon!

Me:

  • sees a new GNOME project that is set to replace an older one
  • checks out what language it's written in…

…aaannd it's Rust 🦀

A new minor version of Letterpress is out, version 2.1!

  • The app now uses the GNOME 46 runtime, and widgets have been updated accordingly (mainly dialogs look better now).
  • Images can now be pasted from the clipboard
  • The app was translated to Simplified Chinese.

@FineFindus has joined the project, so I'm no longer the only maintainer! 🎉 Thank you so much!

You can get the new release on Flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/io.gitlab.gregorni.Letterpress

Honestly, Mousai by @seadve is just straight up better than Shazam.

Any Errands (https://apps.gnome.org/List/) contributors out there? I'm trying to implement some sort of sync mechanism in Party Hat (https://gitlab.gnome.org/gregorni/party-hat), and since Errands already has that, I was wondering if someone could help me out there.

I'd love it if anyone would make one of those cute, little apps for making a slide show with full screen images:

Select a folder or specific image files, then drag and drop them to sort the order to show them in.

This is such a basic thing, if you ever hold a presentation showing pics from a trip or something, you need to make slides like this, but it's so time consuming in LibreOffice b/c you need to create a new page for each pic and then drag the pic to place it perfectly

The only feature needed is what I said. The interface for sorting the pics could be similar to the new tab overview feature in #Gnome (see attached image).

And the result must be exportable as a pdf

Bonus features that would be nice to have, but not necessary:

  • Add text, change font, color and placement, and select a semi-transparent background color for the text
  • Zoom in on a pic, and move it to choose which part is shown in the slideshow
  • Export as odp
  • Add notes to each page
