I love #DonkeyKong and collecting his games, so look what came in the mail today! On the right is the #gameboy color port of #donkeykongcountry. Yes you heard right, they fit the whole 3D 16-bit #SNES game onto this 8-bit handheld and it is shockingly faithful to the original. I lowkey think this might actually be the best portable version of DKC1. Being in colour, it’s immediately more readable than the DK Land games, while it also looks crisper than the washed-out #gba port. Cont. in comments

Arcane Cache: Review to "Luggage Retrieval Officer", a logic homebrew game for the GBA that combines sly charm with - literal - mathematically precise constructed puzzles.
My Game Boy Micro (of which I am the original owner) only lasted about 15 minutes on a full charge playing Pokemon Emerald. Replacement batteries are under $10, and there are mod shops selling higher-capacity ones for $13-ish, but perhaps I should also remember that the Micro is best appreciated as an object and not a thing to actually attempt to play games on at my age and with my eyesight. #RetroGaming#GBA#Nintendo#HandheldGaming

Did you know there is a Jurrasic Park Builder tycoon game for #GBA?
Despite it having no tutorials, it is really cool! There are 140 dinos to collect, an island to build your park on an you can manage everything from advertisement to burger prices to what they sell in the gift shop. There is no goal other than to survive as long as possible but I can see crafty players to just chill endlessly here.
Just completed Wario Land 4, and it gave me mixed feelings.
First off, the presentation is fantastic! It has some of the prettiest sprite animations I've seen and the sound design is very playful and unique.
It made a few crucial changes to the formula. Wario is no longer immortal so you have to be more careful. There is a new speedrunning aspect to it, because once you "clear the level" you have to run back to the start before the time runs out.
Its focus has changed from the carefree puzzle platforming exploration I loved, Wario has fewer forms you can explore the levels with, so it's not my favorite. But it's quite short and polished, so it's well worth playing. #retrogaming#wario#warioland#gba#gameboyadvance
