As far as I know there were only two issues of this, so I hope that one day, I can do the second one as well.

As for now, Total Games Guide To... Game Boy Advance 1 - May 2001 (UK) has just been added to the magazine catalogue.

New year, new Edge of Emulation article! This one is about the Glucoboy, a GBA cartridge that doubles as a blood glucose meter.

https://shonumi.github.io/articles/art33.html

For years, this cartridge was one the rarest pieces of Game Boy hardware out there. It was only last year that the Video Game History Foundation managed to dump the ROM.

Now you can emulate the Glucoboy without any actual blood!

Not the way I was planning to spend half of my day today...
Sink got backed up, so I had to rip everything out, clean the pipes under pressure and then put it back together.
And then, unrelated, I noticed that there was about 200 litres of groundwater in the concrete hole where my water meter is. aaarg...

Anyway...

I can't get either #VisualBoyAdvance-M or #mGBA to import a save file from Pizza Boy GBA. Anyone know how to do it?

Let’s talk about how is a far better Mario Kart than Super Mario Kart on the SNES. Friends and I traveling together played hours of this linked together on over seas flights. Lots of good memories with this game.

Here’s my #NintendoSwitch #2023YearInReview. Despite playing a lot less this year, I still played the Switch more than I thought. Oh, and I ended up guessing my top game correctly! WarioWare, Super Mario Advance 4, and Kuru Kuru Kururin all got a lot of play on the GBA app, so I figured it would be at the top. Also, you can tell which month I really got into my Steam Deck and which month I was really sick. #NintendoSwitchOnline #GBA #SNES #SuperMarioBrosWonder

Yordan’s gaming trends showing a pie graph with the following genre breakdown: Classic games at 38%, Party at 20%, Action at 14%, Music at 11%, Puzzle at 9%, and Racing at 8%. Overall, 34 games were played for a grand total of 300 hours.
Yordan’s monthly stats, showing November as the month with the most playtime at 43 hours. At the bottom is a bar graph showing playtimes of each month, with April being significantly lower than every other month and November being the highest.

I just played through the demo for Goodboy Galaxy, the new #GBA #Metroidvania. It's very good. Fun, layered environment puzzles, simple mechanics that build on one another, and wonderful art. A perfect demo to show off what's been created.

EDIT:

After the "Castlevania" areas of the Fiendlord's castle in Chrono Trigger (https://mastodon.social/@GamesMissed/111304490109151554), I've had it in my head to play an actual Castlevania game. I haven't played Circle of the Moon since it came out over 20 years ago, so it seemed a good place to start again.

I own a (and an SP) but I'm playing it on my because a) I'm lazy, b) it has the largest, brightest screen of all my Nintendo portables, and c) why not? This is what is for.

GamesMissed,
@GamesMissed@mastodon.social avatar

I remember it being harder than this, the first time around. However, the first time around I was playing it on the original #GBA with no built-in lighting, and often on the bus on the way to and from work. I'm having a lot of fun, regardless. I remember nothing from 20 years ago.

So far, I've beaten Cerberus and the Necromancer, and I've picked up the Mercury, Venus, Salamander, Golem, and Manticore cards. Just exploring the castle in whatever direction looks good to me at a given time.

@GamesMissed@mastodon.social avatar

Continuing my playthrough of #Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. I've now beaten the Iron Golem - not a very difficult battle. But after that, it took me a little while to figure out where to go next to make any progress. I finally found the Endless Corridor and have made it up to Adramelech.

This is a much harder boss than the three that preceded it. For each of them, I died one time only and was able to beat them on the second try. I've now died three times to Adramelech.
