Over on Podvibes, the #Mastodon instance for #FictionPodcast creators, I'm offering up small tips to help folks, shows, and production houses get the most out of their time on the #Fediverse.
It's all about the cultivation, I think. So if you know any #AudioDrama or #AudioFiction peeps who are looking to get started in our post-Big Centralized Social world, tell them about that instance, would you?
It’s another #AudioDramaSunday, so it’s time to toot about the shows featured & highlighted in the 60th issue of The End and our companion podcast, The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week!
We’ll start off with a show that recently reached a conclusion last week:
🗡️🩸👥 • Professionally Possessed, a dramatized #horror anthology from Christine Mendiola & Goose Thunder Podcasting Network, posted the Season 1 finale on Oct 26th. https://professionallypossessed.carrd.co/
A collection of stand-alone fantasy audio stories about Helena, a woman who exorcises people of demons by drawing the demons out of their bodies into hers.
Note from creator:
Focus on female, trans, and non-binary characters.
• Season 1 finale released October 26, 2023
• 10 episodes
• Listening time: 5h 58m
• Next season status: Possible, but not planned.
• 🗡️🩸👥
Today, Oct 1, Wrong Station, a narrated #horror anthology from Anthony Botelho, Alexander Saxton, & Jacob Duarte Spiel, returns for Season 8. You’ll need some time to catch up on the 117 prior episodes. Like, 60 and a half hours worth of time. 📻😱🇨🇦.
The Wrong Station is a Canadian horror anthology series, with new episodes released every other Sunday. “You may wish to adjust the dial. You are currently tuned into… The Wrong Station.”
We’ve another suggestion for a great tale for #AudioFictionSunday this week, and it’s once again a favorite of our curator, @evoterra:
"I recommend Tumanbay, a dramatized #fantasy series from iHeartPodcasts & Goldhawk Productions. Don't let the "fantasy" part fool you. This is much more of a military/administration/coup kind of story, which arguably sounds less sexy than ‘fantasy.’ But I enjoyed it immensely. Perhaps you will as well.”
Tumnabay is a complete series. Queue this one up for your next long trip, as the 34 episodes of the 4 seasons will last you about 30 hours.
Tumanbay: the most magnificent city on earth. The beating heart of a vast empire. A city of dreams – where those who once arrived as slaves now reside in the seat of power.
A clueless Irish-American who loves Ireland collaborates with her Druidic-healer poet cousin as they prepare to inaugurate the new Megacorp Exhibition Hall, an heiress, a hot groundskeeper, a fairy fort, a famous Russian dissident artist, and an army of frisky stoats have other plans.
• Season 1 finale released 8 Sep 2022
• 6 episodes
• Listening time: 2h 25m
• Season 2 slated for Dec 2023
• 🍀😂🦡
Your Horror Show from Ryan Joseph Murphy is off to a pretty kick ass start. If you're feeling like some good, high quality, anthology horror, look no further.
I haven't been promoting this a ton, but I just finished releasing the second Unwanted Places story (10 parts!) on patreon.com/grinnermedia. It's a story about a family broken by a song with power beyond human comprehention set in The Storage Papers universe.
