On an #Ubuntu system with #Gnome, I have the issue that while normally my laptop's trackpad works just fine, sometimes for a while it suddenly changes as if it had extreme amounts of pointer acceleration. You know, the pointer moves like it's in molasses. It reacts just fine, but every movement is slow to accelerate and decelerate. It also affects scrolling. This might last a minute or the rest of the evening.
I haven't touched the settings and if I go to the settings panel when this is occurring, they're at their normal positions.
If I use my keyboard's mouse mode during this time, it's unaffected.
Al final si pude conseguir una laptop para mí hermana. En una tienda especializada en esta ciudad, el rendimiento es bueno y le va a servir para sus tareas y esas cosas uwu es de la marca dell.
I thought about adding another E5-1660 v2 like my other T3610, but suddenly they have gone up in price and at almost the cost of an AMD Ryzen, by comparison. It would be silly to pay that much for a small 0.1 Ghz boost gain.
I also considered a E5-2673 v2, but I cannot find anyone who used it with a Dell T3610 and so I am uncertain about the compatibility. 🤔
#Apple desperately trying to sell me up on a new MacBook by sneaking in random bugs, like it suddenly decides over night that connecting a Dell display over USB-C no longer works.
I don't know what quarrel Apple has with #Dell but the two never got along well.
I think it's time to finally switch to the ThinkPad and get over with this.
Does anyone have hands on a laptop with a Copilot key? If so, what actual keycode does it emit? Apparently Super+C is the standard shortcut for Copilot on Windows 11, so I would not be surprised if the key just emits that like the "Presentation mode" keys emitting Super+P…
(I could help you figure this out in a Linux install, but I have no idea how to investigate it in Windows)
❝Today, thanks to Android and ChromeOS, Linux is an important end-user operating system. But, before Linux, there were important Unix desktops, although most of them never made it. …❞
My #dell xps 13 died (again) a couple of weeks ago, and Dell changed the mainboard.
Unfortunately, less than 10 days later, the WiFi doesn't work anymore (the interface doesn't even show up in "lspci" or in the BIOS hardware overview). Also, one of the charging ports seems busted.
I'm chatting with Dell Technical Support (on WhatsApp, this is the 21st century) and it's going great: after confirming that the BIOS was showing "W-Fi Device {None}" they suggested to move it closer to the router. 😬
Does anyone know what physical security lock to use with my #Dell XPS 13 (9370)? The specs say "noble lock" but doesn't say what type.
I tried an #Kensington N17 but it was too large (although, what I received looked different to the product photos so I think I received a knockoff of a different lock)
