Morning Folks! This morning I talked a bit more about my Penance Brand of Dissipation Inquisitor over in #PathOfExile. I also recorded a bit of gameplay footage of me doing a t16 Shaper Guardian map to show off how it feels to play the build. I've one-shot Sirius and Elder and took down Maven last night and am working on getting the fragments for Shaper.
Sometimes a post develops a life of its own. Originally I was going to do one of my Friday round-up posts, but then spent the entire time bemoaning the current #Diablo4 season and how it just isn't as "fun" as Season 2 was.
Hey Folks! I've leveled my Penance Brand of Dissipation Inquisitor through the campaign and geared it at least partially... and now I find myself having to rewire my brain a bit. The thing I care most about in games is being tanky enough to never die... which is not exactly what this character is doing. So I'm having to actually care a bit about damage output.
Morning Folks! During Crucible there was this wildly overpowered build that involved exploding totems, and I have always kicked myself for never giving it a try. Right now, Penance Brand of Dissipation feels like one of those situations in the way it deletes bosses so I'm going for it and creating a character.
Hey Folks! This morning I talked about the weird state of #PathOfExile where more Mirrors are being generated than any other league, but the price of each is six times what it was last league.
This madness is brought on by @kodra hitting the jackpot and getting a Mirror to drop... which has led us down the rabbit hole of investigating this nonsense.
In my further adventures of having access to the trade league in #PathOfExile, last night I decided to spend some effort improving my Lightning Arrow Champion mapper.
I talk through the various gear swaps that I made and where I spent those hard-fought private league divines.
Getting around a bit later than normal, but yesterday was the official end of the "Bel" Private League in #pathofexile, and now that I have access to trade again... I started by swapping a single item then snowballed into effectively changing every piece of gear I had on my Righteous Fire Champion.
Good Morning Folks! I had completely forgotten that City of Heroes had zone-wide events. Other than the Halloween events in Everquest... this might have been one of the first major timed reoccurring events in games that I had experienced.
This morning I talked about happening upon a raid group doing the event last night and joining in the fun.
The podcast this weekend stirred up all sorts of nostalgia about #CityOfHeroes so yesterday I installed the Homecoming client and pretty much spent all day wandering around Paragon City.
The sound design more than anything else plucks my heartstrings. This is still a great game and gives a window into what "peak MMORPG" looked like just before the launch of World of Warcraft.
Hey Folks! I think this might be my last post talking bout my SSF Righteous Fire Chieftain in #PathOfExile because I finally got around to recording a gameplay video.
I think I might like this more than I liked juggernaut pre-nerf. Sure you give up some raw survival but with Lightning Coil I have been able to get most of the way there.

It is just me running a non-juiced T16 for the sake of brevity as I didn't want to record a long boring video. The forest can make some very tanky things.
Righteous Fire Chieftain seems like the way to go unless you are going to do high-investment Inquisitor.
Morning Folks! I had been pushing my way toward getting a Fan the Flames Cluster Jewel setup for my Righteous Fire Chieftain and it didn't quite pan out the way I thought it would.
I also talk a bit more about the whole GW2 Skyscale vs WoW Dragonriding thing with a short video.
With the help of my friend Eli I figured out where I fell off the MSQ in #WorldOfWarcraft Dragonflight and got back on the track to finishing up.
Then I spent the rest of the evening working on my Righteous Fire Chieftain in #PathOfExile as I make things explode and attempt to make it as tanky as Juggernaut was.

Given that I have 634 unplayed games in my Steam account and {mumble} unredeemed bundle Steam keys, there's a reason my unplayed collection is tagged "Pile of Shame".
I'll pin this to my profile, and give a brief summary here each day (or x, if I miss x days due to work or stuff).
I'll play 15-30 minutes of (at least) one new game I've never played before (or played less than 15 minutes of). I'll give every game at least 15 minutes, even if I hate every minute of it.
I'm also open to suggestions; if you reply to this thread with a game, I'll schedule it, or tell you what I thought of it.
One of the things that's come up is that I have a bunch of games that I've played once, and not touched again.
GreedFall is a third-person action RPG set in a fantasy version of the 17th century.
You play as a noble of the "Merchant Congregation", one of several competing factions seeking to colonise the island of "Teer Fradee", hoping to find a cure for the "Malichor", an illness that is wreaking havoc on the Merchant Congregation's capital city of Sérène.
I was just going to play 15 minutes, write up a review, and move on.
Instead, I found myself deeply engrossed in the storyline, and regretting that I hadn't discovered GreedFall earlier.
Firstly, the character selection screen gives you a choice of the gender, and basic look of your character, with them being fully voiced. Huge checkmark.
But the worldbuilding itself is just amazing. At least in the initial quests in Sérène, it most closely reminds me of Dishonoured in terms of setting (which is a very good thing).
GreedFall is currently on sale on both GOG for a historical low of A$8.76, and Steam for A$10.99, and if you feel like scratching an itch for a game set in the Age of Discovery (when you're not playing Baldur's Gate 3), I don't think you could go wrong with GreedFall, because it's:
