@dave Many predictable and irresponsible actions by governments cause pain and suffering but seldom for those who make the decisions.
Similar to cutting public services and impact on NZ economy. Or loosening (health and safety) regulations preceding an increase in accidents. Or increased young people's use of vapes after access made easier ....
@dave People who are community minded will care. People with more individualistic (selfish) mindsets will only care if it happens to them or costs them something.
Community minded people may need to brush off economic and financial skills to show how things will affect event those who manage to avoid bad things.
That's also easier said than done as many of us are exhausted. Finance Minister Nicola Willis has said she doesn't want CTU economist's "reckons" ... She'd rather be blindfolded 🕶️
@dave@Kay I think Marc Daalder did a number of OIA requests to a range of government departments asking what their long Covid plans were. All were rejected because there was no such information to release. Included Treasury, iirc.
