Smirnov was recently arrested and arraigned, both for lying and falsifying a document in 2020, and repeating those lies & adding new ones in 2023. David Weiss argued that Smirnov is a flight risk & should be detained pending his trial. However, the magistrate let Smirnov out with a GPS monitor even though he acknowledged that Smirnov lied to pretrial services about how much money he had. He told them he had $5000, when he has access to $6M, & dual Israeli citizenship would allow him to get a new passport & flee the country.
Weiss filed for reconsideration of Smirnov’s release, pointing out again that he’s a flight risk, that he could be charged with perjury for lying about how much cash he has access to. He has been re-arrested.
Smirnov filed something in Nedada. While the Case is in California. The Nevada judge ordered his release, and the California Judge ordered him to be re-arrested.
Putin loving republicans went court shopping. Now, the Nevada judge, after getting his dick smacked, admits it doesn't have jurisdiction.
IMPORTANT: The convicted criminal who House Republicans have now turned to in their Kremlin-backed conspiracy to interfere with the 2024 presidential election by spreading disinformation about Joe Biden is represented by Mark Paoletta, the attorney for Ginni Thomas.
That’s not all. Paoletta worked in the Trump administration.
And he is close friends with Clarence Thomas.
And his work representing Ginni Thomas focused on trying to ensure she gave no testimony to Congress—exactly the opposite of what he is doing now in bending over backwards to get almost certainly false testimony from a convicted criminal that could interfere in the 2024 presidential election before the House majority.
These are bad people and they have a plan.
