@woodpunk Had that with somebody trying to use a Waterstone's card in Blackwell's. I tried gently explaining that while book tokens are accepted in basically any bookshop, store cards don't work like that. Didn't help. Might have made things worse.
And yes, I'm aware of the irony a decade later.
@Dtl Yes, but if they'd had any decency they'd have done the "What's the date? Yes, but WHAT YEAR?!" thing. Shoddy temporal navigators, no idea which decade it is...
