I was just thinking in the back of my head about how cheap LEDs have made types of lighting that would’ve cost way too much (both to install, and in electricity usage) no longer stupidly expensive....
Along those same lines, I would say LCD monitors and TVs. Obviously they are not "cheap" as in pocket change, but they are an order of magnitude less than when the tech was introduced.
Also computer storage, e.g. SSD drives and SD cards. (Although maybe it's cheating to cite anything related to Moore's Law.)
It’s been a long while since i used a desktop and honestly can’t remember what antivirus software i used, and even then, probably the landscape has changed over the years....
I use Webroot because it uses minimal system resources, and it scores highly as an antivirus. But it requires an annual subscription, so if that is a turn-off to anybody, then I'd just recommend the standard Windows Defender.
I've had to visit Reddit twice since the protests started, to get information from a specific user. Both times, I used Brave browser in Private mode. They didn't get to count me as a login, they couldn't serve me ads, and their trackers were blocked.
I don't anticipate needing to go back to Reddit ever again, but for anyone who can't avoid it, I recommend that method.
What are some things that used to be expensive, but which no longer are?

What antivirus software should i use?
