I'm still here.

I think my AC might finally be fixed, on the second try, though I still get this big jolt of anxiety whenever I look at the thermostat.

I'm still feeling overwhelmed with the foster cats, and despairing that some of them will ever find homes. I'm trying to get a few of them into other foster arrangements — the ones I think would handle it best — but I'm not having a lot of luck there.

Sometimes I want to use one of them to compliment a 'fit or makeup, but I realise they're gendered.

I have been having a profoundly bad week and I think the only thing that can counteract it is one of those moments like at the end of the first Digimon movie where everyone's internet friends send good vibes as a power-up so if people could spare some power-up energy for me that would be rad.

Given their parasitical nature and the primitive state of their planet of origin, the first Goa'uld that somehow infested a space-faring host, probably just sat there a while with the biggest blown mind of the millennium. To go from "this Unas looks strong, I shall take them" to "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE"? Yeah, no question.

I'd also love to know who that first space-farer was. Some kinda "Alien" situation I'd imagine. Just less chest-explody.

My poor foster girl Misty must have had kittens at some point, because she's been grooming the kittens she shares a room with and occasionally letting a few of them comfort-nurse on her. She especially likes the little tortie Maddie, who came to us all on her own too. It breaks my heart to think about all that must have happened to her. She'll be ready for a new home of her own soon. #FosterKittens #CatsOfMastodon #AnimalRescue

So there's an outfit called the glide suit. Increases control in the air when skydiving, allowing you to move farther while falling. Upgraded, the set will provide immunity from fall damage. You can jump off a sky island, hold the speed-dive button, and hit the ground like a ton of bricks with no repercussions.

My complaint is that they missed a chance to make Link do a superhero landing when doing so. Just kinda lands with a plop instead. Disappointing. :P

So wow, Happy #Caturday to me!

The rescue I foster for did a big adoption event today at the local PetSmart, and we had a few people who had gotten their applications approved early and just needed to meet the kittens and decide which one to take home... and all three of my remaining L-litter babies were adopted! I'm ALL OUT OF BABIES!* 😭 #CatsOfMastodon #FosterKittens

*already have another litter lined up later this week

Since it's been such a stressful couple of weeks, i've continued to hold off on Picard s3, just so it's not soured by my mood. Zelda seems to be escaping that at least.

I've watched a few movies but I always get hit with choice paralysis so... I've decided...

Welp. Since Leverage got ruined for me, I went searching for something else light and fluffy to watch. So, now I'm watching Dexter.

I'm kind of alarmed at how relatable I'm finding the happy little psychopath serial killer.

Now, I understand that a lot of the idea of the show is the masks we wear around people. Everyone in the show is two faced to some degree, but Dexter's mannerisms, his using logic to work through social situations, the trying to act normal, the fascination in gruesome situations, just the whole damn character... so freaking relatable.

It is kind of interesting the dynamic at play here. The truly disturbing part of Dexter is his lack of feeling. If it was just some vigilante, going around killing terrible people, he'd be framed as a hero character. Same actions, but somehow more acceptable.

Now, before I get put on a list, I have too much empathy and feel bad for even swatting mosquitoes.

Oh no!
Well.. I've been rewatching shows. I used to love Leverage. It was goofy, campy, and even though completely unbelievable, it was fun to see how the different capers played out.

Well I'm discovering that Timothy Hutton and Christian Kane are kind of Grade-A assholes... and the whole thing is ruined for me.

It's kind of the first time I've had a piece of media I really liked ruined by one of these kinds of things. I feel kinda gutted. I guess this is how Harry Potter fans must feel.

I am kind of fascinated at the fact that they both played my two least favourite characters on the show. Like... as someone who likes Batman, it's weird that I'd bounce off the strategist and the muscle. Makes me wonder if I picked up on subtle body language in their performances when I first watched it... or maybe I just like those roles when they're dressed up as a flying mammals.
