There was an ad on TV for Apple TV+ and it was a sizzle reel of a few seconds of every show they have with the title of the show, and whether or not it was a new season. Mostly unidentifiable stuff.

Apple’s not the only company that does this, WBD does the same thing for Max, and I think it’s just awful.

Spend your time advertising a can’t-miss show, not trying to show people the quantity of shows. “We’ve got a bucket of shows you’ve never heard of!!”

So, let's say you got a new Mac and started a Time Machine restore over Wi-Fi. A few minutes into the restore, you connect it to your network with Ethernet. Will the process switch over from Wi-Fi to Ethernet (and hopefully speed up)?

well for us it did NOT switch over

We abandoned the restore, started it all over with Wi-Fi OFF and it restored about 12x faster than previously. Oh well!

Future Apple Vision developers - I want an app that can track eye gaze for a specific video clip (with the user’s cooperation), then aggregate many folks’ data into something like this:

Thanks to all that pointed out that the exact look spot as determined by the device is being kept private on the device (until you make a selection) for privacy/security reasons by Apple, making my idea much more difficult or impossible to implement in an app.

For "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol” we shot in IMAX 15perf, IMAX 8perf, Vistavision, 35mm and RED. At ILM, we did every resolution test under the sun using these formats. I was ILM’s compositing supervisor.

So it bugs me to see so much hand-wavy misinformation out there about large formats.

    Most of the time when I reboot my iMac, one of my two screens reverts to a desktop wallpaper I haven’t used in 6 months. Really inspires a lot of confidence.
