I disagree with the framing that this is a problem that originated elsewhere and came to America. That's not telling the tale accurately. Religious evangelism is a pillar of European colonialism, massacre, and conquest in the Americas.

Science isn't a series of facts. Science is a story about the beliefs and actions of the authors, who belong to an elite group with a group code of ethics and norms. Those ethics and norms lend trust in the authors.

You cannot arrive at truth through pure induction nor by merely collecting "facts".
